I am putting a Boarzilla with my new 120R and am considering going with black. Anyone have pics of black pipes on a Maple SERGC? My son thinks Im crazy...
-
I almost blacked out everything recently. But am still considering options. Here is a beauty:
You may find this a good read: http://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-models/721271-120-r-d-and-d-boarzilla-with-ghost-pipe.html

Yes, this is a skunk, but you can at least see VH Power Duals in black

And here I thought you were "done" after the stereo upgrade! ;D

I am a very sick man...
What's the vote here, black or chrome?
I have until Sunday night to decide..
-
If you leave all the other big chrome I would probably just stay chrome.
If you commit to black on at least the forks and crash bars-- then you can balance out with pipes.
That is my opinion...

Totally agree. I wouldn't do just the black pipes unless there is more black planned.
-
If you are leaving your fork legs and engine guard chrome, then I say stay with chrome and keep a nice balance...to me, black exhaust would require doing more black.
-
Decided on chrome. Thanks all..
-
Gonna be awesome! Looking forward to seeing the results.
A guy on hdforums has nearly 140hp/140tq with that set-up.
WOW. That sounds fun...
-
Cant wait, very fired up!
Anyone know someone that wants to buy a year old 110 with 12000 miles on it? Any ideas what its worth? its stock
-
Also still trying to find someone to tune the 120 in So Cal if anyone knows "the guy"..
-
Probably ought to start a new thread to get that question answered. Last thread like that started a huge chitstorm, but did work out well in the end. LOL

Had same internal debate with myself. Now I'm doing same thing with Wheels. All chrome, all black, or contrast. It never stops!

Wise choice !!!!! Those maples are so pretty just a touch of Chrome and a touch of Black in the right places really looks nice I think! Of course I am biased ---------------I own one!
-
I vote contrast
Not hijacking black pipe thread, but to respond to SDCVO, I did go contrast. Purchased the Renegade Lincoln today from Eastern Performance. 21 front, 17 rear. Should look killer. Here's the wheel:

You are definitely correct about the chit storm! It also worked out in the end because I did find a good tuner!
Really like those Renegade wheels, looking forward to the installed pics.

Wheel Update !!??
I am now checking here way tooo much for a pic of those wheels on that bike!
-
Wheels came in today. Guess I'm just going to go with the -2 monotube drop in the front and probably just a -1 lowering block in the rear. I was thinking air ride, but...
1. I like my adjustable rear CVO shock
2. Don't really need to spend the extra coin on air ride right now if not a necessity.

I've been lazy on the site lately, but have my new wheels on. Just getting around to an update. 21 front / 17 rear. Did the -2 Progressive Monotube drop in front and a -1 Burly lowering block in back. Now just waiting on wrap fender, Bad Dad stretched side covers, and windshield to come back from paint.

Looks amazing, nice job!

YEEEEE HAAAAAAA ! ! !
Thank you for the pics. Looks great !
Thanks again ! I am on the prowl for wheels and love this look !
Tell me about the ride/handling now. ( What do you notice? Good , better, worse? )
Did your stock fender have any problems with fitment?
Great job. Cant wait to see the next step. Please post those pics ! ! I check everyday !
-
Well, can you give us an update on the ride and the handling??
Did you just bolt on the wheels and tires? Did you address the rake at all?
Any info on ride/handling would be great. I am very close to finally doing it, and sheeeeesh... I hear so many opinions !
Im leaning towards mono tube lowering the front 1" (or should I do more?... can I do more?)
I also hope to lower the rear end with Shotgun shocks.... so would I need to lower the front more too?
Some people say I have to do the triple trees to avoid bad handling issues?
What is your experience??
Thank you

Sorry Dude. Been busy. Handles great. No need to rake with only a 21". -2 with Progressive Monotubes is what the majority of guys do based on all the research I've done. It's what I did. I looks good and handle fine. No worry about bottoming out on your fender, not for me anyway. Maybe if you were a big dude pushing 300lbs, I don't know. I dropped -1 in back by shifting shocks back with a Burly lowering block. I kept my cvo adjustable shocks which are some of the best. Wheels just bolt on. My stock cvo fender is mounted a little different that non cvo so I had to raise fender up about an inch like this. It's temporary until I get my wrap fender on.
