Fairing for 2001 FXDWG2
« on: January 01, 2011, 11:53:18 PM »

I've owned my Switchblade for about 6 years and I purchased it with the fairing any ideas on how to get one? I have looked for used ones,  and new ones to paint but have not been successful. Anyone know of a source or have gone through this?

If you haven't checked the Moco, I would do that first. I purchased a replacement chin spoiler about 18 months ago. If they don't have one, there are painters associated with this forum (or guys on this forum who know painters) that could paint one for you. I'm pretty sure LarryB could get one done for you.

Harley still lists the Headlamp visor kit#68129-97 Primed and #68129-98DH in Vivid black. I'm sure there are painters out there that can match it up.

Thanks guys, I had seen that fairing but it looked more squared off. I will check with a local guy and see how much he would charge to paint, what about the gold leaf flames? I saw a posting that had a link to some decals.

Be sure you ask your dealer if the Moco still has the painted and flamed fairing available. They may still have some. They will require your VIN to confirm you own a CVO.

Have your dealer do a dealer parts search for that part # I just found a chrome regulator for the 02FXDWG3 this way.....

I found the part number 68038-01WU it is listed for $516, more than the $129 for the black one, but when you factor in the paint and the flames I guess it does not seem out of range. I will call tomorrow to see if they have, perfect situation would have been a wrecked bike or someone who hates the fairing and would be willing to sell for less.

Ace, where did you find on Ebay?? I tried searching every possible way, even completed listings and nothing.
