Uncle Mikeytee just called me from the hospital and I am pleased to report that he sounded really good, well at least as good as he ever does. lol

I don't recall him coughing even once during our conversation which was cut a little short when a nurse came in the room to administer some care.

Keep the prayers coming boys they seem to be working.

I talked to him shortly before 2:00 also... other than putting me on blast for not talking to him in awhile (which I deserved) and busting my balls that it took him getting Covid to call him (yep, he was his usual self) he sounded good considering.

Mike, sorry to hear you’re sick.  Get this beat and get back home.  Thoughts go out for a speedy recovery.  I had a very mild case of COVID in August and was fortunate to get over it pretty quickly.  Apparently it was just enough to produce antibodies which has been a blessing in disguise.

Just spoke with Mikey. Still in the hospital but seems to be in good spirits.
Asked if there was anything he needed, he asked for a big glass of Bourbon!
Not sure how we can manage that but we can try.
He's still not sure when he can come home.
Keep the prayers going for Mr. Mikey!

Just spoke to Donna, Mikeytee’s daughter.  They are doing bloodwork to check for antibodies.  When the antibodies show up they will move him to a step down room and Susie will be able to visit. His complications are lessening, which is a blessing.  She also said that Mikeytee appreciates all the phone calls, however, he needs to get his rest and requests that everyone hold off on calls.  If you would like to speak to Donna, please send me a PM and I’ll give you her number. Keep those prayers and good thoughts coming, I believe they are helping, he actually laughed this evening when he talked to Susie and Donna.

We were blessed to have Maggie Valley back in September and hopefully 2021 will be a much better year with CVOer’s gathering together again!

Just spoke with Mikeytee. He said he woke up this morning feeling better than he has in a while. He sounded really good, just like normal really. He said to tell everybody he’s doing good and his antibodies are up.

He is still in a restricted room but the nurses no longer have to wear hazmat suits to come take care of him.

He said to tell everyone hello and he can’t wait to see everybody soon.

Well, I went to get my COVID19 Vaccine this morning. I got there at 8AM and they took me right in. There endeth the good news, I was asked about my bout with Covid19 and when I was released from the hospital. It seems that you have to wait 90 days from the date of release ( so they say ) till you can safely receive the vaccine. Huh??? I never knew! now I am scheduled for April. Oh well I don't care too much for shots.   :nervous:

Had a very mild case of COVID about 6 months back.  Got my first moderna vaccine two weeks ago and had a pretty good fever a day after the shot but it only lasted 8 hours.  From what I’ve read if your immune system is primed to fight the virus it produces a strong reaction to vaccine shots.

Thats what I'm worried about. I had Covid in November and got tested for Antibodies before going to Daytona bike week
I had "Robust" Antibodies. I was called for a Vaccine appointment for today (March 22nd)and put it off.

Personally I’ll take a day or two feeling bad after a vaccine if it keeps me from getting something like what Mikey had.  I kind of think sooner or later we’re all going to get some immunity either from getting the virus or a vaccine shot.  We discussed which vaccine to get with a nurse friend and she was like it does not matter, just get one,  we’re all going to need a booster later anyway.

My 2nd Moderna was a couple weeks ago (ish?).  Zero response at all.  Might as well have been a large gauge pointy placebo.  Lots of volume.  But zero anything in response.  First shot had a little reaction but, still, almost nothing.  Still expecting the letter in the mail (from someone :nixweiss: ) saying, "hey, it was water, by accident, come back and we'll stick you again."

That could very well be, Don. I didn't run a single new batch last year. this year will be different, I will be starting in another month or so and should have 20 gallons unflavored by June. Then the flavoring begins. Looking to have about 80 + gallons flavored this fall.
