As far as the parts that I took off the bike, I do not want to sell just the bags. I wanted to sell all the parts as one box full.

The parts would be from the swing arm back, ie, bags, rear caliber, wheel, tire, rear rotor, fender with licesin plate mount, rear turn signal, shocks, axel, bag filler strip antena set and all the bolts.

list price looks to be $4534.00 I would sell for $3000.00

A local painter ( Ernie Ball ) is doing one now. He also did the one on the V-rod that made the bike mag a few months ago.......it should be a killer when he's done. BTW, it's going to the trike manufacture as a demo.

Dean, When I was at his shop Sunday . Ernie is painting a friend's street rod this week. I noticed he has all your body parts ( fenders, tank, side cover, etc. and the trike in primer.
Why did he strip the factory paint?

What I wanted to do was use the stock paint and "fill in " the flame's with some color, add some paint to the top of the tank . When he went to get the paint for the trike body he could not get the same paint, he could do the black but not get the same as the blue.

At that point all he could do was to strip the whole thing and start over. The black will be the same and the blue will be close to the Harley blue.  The blue panals will be changed a little from what Harley did.

When it is done, I hope people will look at it and think "this is what Harley should have done"

He is so good at doing custom paint it is hard for him to repaint it "just stock looking"

I have been using him for the last 25 years! He has never let me down on a paint job.

The V-Rod trike and hand made body was a chalange for him last year. If you want to see the V-Rod you can goto  www.dfttrikes.com  and see it.

It should be done by 5-8. I need to get the bike done as we have dealer shows to goto
with the trikes and we need this one to sit next to the V-rod.

If you go past his shop let me know how it is doing!

I did see the picture of the V-Rod trike on his bullitin board [smiley=thumbsup.gif]. It looked pretty awsome. Ernie is an artist with his paint. He just finished paint on a street rod built by Boyd Coddington for a local.....so what does that tell you.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif] .If I get a chance to slip by his shop I'll let you know how it's going.....

Paint is done. I went on monday to pick it up, got back to Chicago at 9:00 pm with it.

Put all the body, fender, tank ect back on last night. I need to do some small work on it tonight and it will than be done. I did start it last night and it ran O.K. I might need to get it remaped, I just can't tell , I now have the stock mufflers on it but due to to trike we cut the can short, the muffler is now 10" long. their are no factory plates or baffles left inside so it is almost like straght pipes.

If the sun is out I will take photo's of it and post them.

The paint looks close to stock with changes to it. The flames are now "filled" with a light blue that you can only see with lots of light. No light and you don't  see the blue fill in paint. The gold band that runs around the blue panals is now red. The "Harley-Davidson"  on the gas tank is a silver not gold.

And as good as Harley is with paint and looking "wet"..........This paint takes "wet" to a new level!

Dean, you and your wife look like proud parents! [smiley=laugh.gif]  The trike looks absolutely fabulous! [smiley=bigok.gif]  Hope to be able to see it in person sometime if you are ever near Peoria or I am in your neck of the woods. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Is that another (pewter-colored) trike we are getting a glimpse of in a couple of the shots?  Perhaps a Gold Wing?
