Title: Good time to buy a new 2014 CVO Softail Deluxe !!!!!!
Post by: el chuco on April 17, 2015, 07:59:19 PM
Here in my neck of the woods (Barnett HD) there are at least 5 or 6 new 2014's still sitting on the floor now selling for about $26,600. Down from the usual price of 30 grand. Who knows, maybe, they can put a better close-out price in order to move them out! Just saying  :pepper:

I paid a little less than that for my wife's 2014 FLSTNSE (Maple and Orange) on Thanksgiving weekend (similar prices available at several North Texas area dealerships.)  I think 24k is probably a reasonable price point at this point in the year, with an out-the-door price somewhere around your 26600 mark after TTL, etc.

I have seen a far number of the 2014 on dealer floor.  Several had several of the same color on the floor.  I don't think they sold well.

24000 would be a great price if that's the bike you like, if they are still there in August the bike will be even less.

Friend was looking for a 2nd bike and considered these.  Going to Daytona, we found these all down the east coast at 24K.  He ended up buying an Indian.

A 2015 for 24K would be a good price.. maybe in a few months. I don't think there will be a 2016 CVO Deluxe.

With the exception of the Ultra Limited, the CVO models seem to cycle through in two year intervals... Road Kings in '13 and '14.  Deluxe in '14 and '15.  I don't think they ever planned for a CVO Deluxe in 2016 anyway.  They will choose a different Softail model for the '16 CVO lineup for sure.  But it has nothing to do with the relative (lack of) success of these models.

For what it's worth... My wife fell in love with her Maple and Orange '14 CVO Deluxe the moment she saw it.  It turns a lot of heads when we're out.  (OK... Maybe she's turning at least a few of those heads and not the bike...)  But it's clearly not for everyone.

My wife also has the '14 maple and Orange CVO Deluxe, unfortunately she already has 25k miles on it.  We have tried to trade it in on a '15 CVO deluxe but they are only offering her about $16-17k for hers....  Damnn...

I'm betting that '16 will bring a CVO Dyna of some kind, maybe even the Lowrider...  ITs been a few years since a Dyna has been a CVO.
My thoughts, time will tell..

I was surprised when the Convertible came back for a 3rd year.. I may trade the wife's 2010 ConV on a 2015 Deluxe.. She seems to like the Blue and Silver one.. I want her to have Anti-Lock Brakes and the ConV with over 40K miles is getting dated..

I don't think there will be a 2016 CVO Deluxe.

What makes you say that?

Most CVOs are 2 year runs with a break.  Sometimes they do run longer. The CVO Deluxe doesn't seem to be a big seller so I doubt they will do another year.  If they do they need to change the paint scheme and wheels. The paint scheme seems to be designed to appeal more toward female riders and the wheels are not custom. They are the old style touring wheel in chrome...an obsolete design that has been around forever. IMHO the white walls are out of place with the paint too.
