Sad Day...
« on: December 02, 2004, 02:50:12 PM »

Tuesday was a sad day for me...the Deuce had it's 5000 (2500 this year) mile service and is now in the garage on the storage stand.  All that's left is a good wax, plug in the battery tender and pull the 100th anniversary cover over it.  It will then sit idle until April.  The good news is I can lower my insurance for 5 months...which here in MA is significant!

I will keep riding the SEEG as long as I can...sand and salt are not friendly...but a day or two each month would be nice!  Don't think I will make 7500 miles like I planned but I am over 6000 which is not bad for me.

Whew!  You need to change the title of this post--I thought something bad had happened.  A wreck, you sold the Deuce, somebody stole it, something like that.

Look at it this way--next April, when you uncover it, it will be like Christmas all over again.

Sorry about the title...it really is sad to put the bikes away.  My wifes Shadow is snug already and Sunday I should be doing her Rebel.

It is fun trying to squeeze 4 bikes in to a 2-bay garage with a Tahoe in on spot but at least the Jeep in the other is short.

To give you an Idea on MA insurance my yearly collision ($1K deductible) is $646 on the Deuce and $712 on the SEEG.  This state is just a ripoff on that front.

It has been a good year.
