Title: New CVO owner
Post by: 99 Blue flame on June 26, 2021, 01:19:28 PM
New to this forum. New owner of a 1999 Blue flame FXR3. 4,054 original miles. All stock except exhaust and forward controls.

There aren't many FXR guys here but glad to see another.  So forward controls; really?  You must be a tall boy.

I opted for a more comfortable (to me) ride.  Switched mine to the old police floorboards.

You have pictures of yours?

Only have had it a month and a half. Only things not original are the forwards and pipes. They were on when I bought it. Tried to post a photo, but it's to large.

I have replaced the led turn signals with original style ones. Also have added mid control mounts and pegs.

I was never long legged enough for forward controls.  Unless you're tall a moderator with a big flamed hat (hi Gary) most of us aren't really tall enough comfortably ride with forward controls.  It looks better without the original shifter hardware just sitting there doing nothing too.

The chrome upper and lower trees look nice on those too.  And as much as I like the 21" narrow spoke on my red FXR2 the front wheel yours got is a good looking piece.  Anything else interesting to do to the bike right away or just start riding it?

I put heel rests on it that I found used close to home. That helps with the forwards. I put on a little over 100 miles today. Just gonna enjoy riding it for now. A little over 500 miles since I've gotten it. ;D
