Title: Fork lock/power locks
Post by: flhman on July 21, 2021, 05:17:07 PM
2015 CVO Roadglide, locked the bike yesterday like normal, wife and I came back to the bike, bags unlocked, but wouldn’t unlock the fork, messed around for a bit with the key now, and got it to unlock, question is, fixable ? Or new switch time ? Thanks.

Had Thad happen a few times on my 16 CVO Ultra. Next time try moving the wheel as if the lock was pinched. I stopped locking the wheel, problem solved.

Thanks, I was wiggling it back and forth, no luck. Wait and see if anyone else chimes in.

I had that problem wih my 2016 CVO Glide. I had to get the barrel replaced.
There's a knack in removing the barrel to unlock the fork, using a thin blade under the large fork lock knob. Slide the blade under the knob to locate a little tab, then push up on the tab and the barrel pulls out.

Thanks, was afraid that’s what the outcome would be.

Had to replace my 13' elect fork lock. $500 because the green wire broke with no repair. Parts counter needed proof of CVO and key code to match the new lock. Installed new lock and within 3 weeks the new wire broke. So I said screw it and just lock the fork manually. Bad design in my book.
