Title: Heatshield discolored issue
Post by: katanasy on July 22, 2021, 01:25:01 AM
I got a lovely CVO limited 2021 in bronze armor.

2k miles under all stock condition.

Everything's great so far except for heatshield issue.

The header pipe shield is getting discolored.

Is there anyone who knows about this problem?

The dealer was told me that it seemed to be natural symptoms unless change slip-ons stock to aftermarket.

Warranty!! I would guess that you are running extremely hot/lean.

Appears to be a warranty issue. Insist dealer replace but have it tuned first.

I have a 2020 Sand Dune with the same heat shield and had the same issue, not as bad, just around the clamp area. They checked for an intake leak, checked the injectors. Found everything working properly, The rear heat shield was replaced under warranty and since then no issues. It turned blue the first day I rode it 200 plus miles. I have ridden 2000 plus miles in hot weather and no issues since all under warranty. They only replaced the heat shield. Never changed the slip-ons or had it tuned. You would have to buy an after market tuner to tune the engine therefore voiding the warranty. Hope this helps. Also my dealer said they had a 2021 bronze that the front heat shield blued, maybe a plating issue.
