I just got my first Harley. My son has a Road King and talked me into joining the "Hogs" and also talked me into buying a 2007 Cherry Red/Black Ice Ultra Screaming Eagle. My wife and I are in Florida but our son took delivery of the bike for me and sent me a picture of it...sitting in his garage....I'll get to see it in March...sure looks nice...he is having pipes...sert and some other thing of a bob put on it before I get home....says I have to have it to keep it from getting too hot....anyway..Hello....I'm now an "OLD HOG".

After reading a few other threads on this site he's busy on the phone to his accountant explaining how he needs to up the distribution from his IRA due to being hit hard by an unforseen (by his CPA) tax . . . . Harley Tax Time for Bully! Welcome!

Thanks everyone for your kind words of welcome. Everyone I have met are just great. I notice that you all are offering to help me spend more money on my scooter...I think my son is doing a fine job of that...already put $2000 worth of adds on it and I haven't even seen it yet ..only a picture.

With state tax and the sur charge, and additions...I already have over $42,000 in it....I hope you guys don't help me too much more or I'll have to get a tin cup and sell pencils on the street.

It has cost twice as much as my Wing....my son says it has "soul"...I sure hope so.....thanks again to all you great folks....I am so lucky to find such a friendly group of folks.

Now that I am learning how to use this message board...a few more facts...

I moved to Louisiana after living in the Chicago area for 33 years. My son is a pilot and lives in Louisiana about six miles from me ..so we should be able to ride our Harley's alot together. I have cancer...so I let him pick out the bike and put all the stuff he wants on it...so when I no longer ride..it will be his. He has a 2006 Road King Classic and talked me into getting a bike with "soul". I look forward to reading all of your comment to each other...you all are very interesting.

Bully, great to have you here. Why not get your son to deliver that new ride to Florida, it couldn't be that bad a ride from Louisianna and my bet is that a few of the gang here would figure a way to ride over with him or at least pick him up from point to point.

Times a wastin' as they say and no reason why that beauty shouldn't be parked where you can see it and wax it and ride it when you want.

Congrats........ I love the 07 Cherry Ultra. The colors change from Cherry Red to Orange and Light yellow/ Gold. Saw one @ my Dealer. The salesman took me to the back were they were prepping it for the Owner of the Dealership. As much as I love the Orange and Black Harley Colors, The Cherry One is my favorite, Except for the 04 Orange and Black Pumpkin.

OH MY GAWD.....just got home from Florida and got to see my new bike and ride it for the first time yesterday. I fell in love with it .......loved my GoldWing...but love this too. It's different but I think it sits more comfortable and it is more fun. My son had pipes and SERT and Stage something or other put on it along with 1200 miles. I think he was hoping I wouldn't like it so I would give it to him....tough....I liked it. Will send pics when I can figure out how to put them on this thing.

I am fat due to Cancer drugs and am not very graceful getting on and especially getting off. That seat back is in my way. It helps if I put my foot on the passengers foot rest but I am afraid I will break it off....might even break the kick stand off.

I am really a HOG now.

P.S. - I wouldn't worry about the pegs..I've seen them survive going down pretty hard..kickstand should be fine also - just watch yourself and enjoy!

It is with complete pride and joy I read this ride report Bully. Congratulations, and you bet you don't need to worry one bit about the pegs. I've seen them keep the gas tank off the pavement while a bike was sliding down the road on the pegs - think about it - 860 lb bike, sliding down road.......... You can't hurt that bike no way. It is going to cradle you - once we figure out what seat to get on the bike to let you sit back a bit more so that the back rest isn't in your way. Great news you have it home with you now. As it should be. ;-)
