HD MP3 Problem
« on: June 03, 2007, 10:26:35 PM »

Noticed today my HD MP3 player just lost power for no reason. Just cruising along, noticed the music was not playing anymore, looked down and the MP3 player was off. Turned it back on and later it happened again. Powers back up fine and works normal then cuts off for not reason. Anyone else had this problem with the Harley MP3 player? :nixweiss:

Mark, it will power itself off if it's in the stop position (power on, but not playing), but it shouldn't be turning itself off while it is playing tunes.  I'd check your power connections for shorts, first.  If it turns right back on, you may just have a short somewhere.

You are right, it has to be a short. I was just wishing, don't know what I was hoping to hear but I was afraid of that. I have really hated this radio from day one, since I'll have the fairing off I need to find a better radio that will work with the factory controls.

It's a kit to make many Sony head units work with the bike.  All but plug and play when it's all done.

Mark;
The HSA kit is a great product, I have installed several of them along with this Sony Marine Unit with great results:

This unit can have satelite added for $100 and is MP3 cd capable.

In all cases i have also used the HW amps as well. The power of this unit is only 17watts RMS per channel. The specs state 54 watts but that is peak power (this is typical).

Give me a call if you'd like to discuss this option further.
