Does anyone have a good way to repair the rubber on these grips? As the rubber is imbedded in it, and is not just a band, is there an easy way? If not, has anyone been abl to find a thick black band to use as a replacenebt if I carve out the old one? Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. I have shopped around the entire country, and I think I may have bought the last set a few years ago.

I know this doesn't help but I looked and looked and couldn't find anything either.  Finally gave up and got different grips.
