Relocating Turn Signals, What's The Best Mounting Bracket?
« on: March 19, 2014, 01:00:05 PM »

Moving the turn signals to the front forks.  What mounting bracket works and looks the best.  One of the HD brackets sticks them out too far and they look like wings.  Research on the forums says that the Kury bracket has the wrong thread pattern (some of these threads were pretty old so that could have changed).

It appears that there are two styles: 1. Clamps around the forks or 2. Brackets that bolt on to the upper or lower stock fork brackets.

I'm upgrading the stock bulbs with Custom Dynamics LED RingZ that will turn the signals into white running lights and amber when the signal is activated.  Positioning first choice: forks, second choice: engine guard.

All information and opinions are appreciated.

I've been researching to do the exact same thing. I saw someone on here has their signals relocated to the forks & assumed they just used HD's clamps & think that location looks the best. I was told though that locating them there could pose a problem if your forks ever compress so much that they get in the way. The odds of that happening though..?

Just saw what you were talking about the "wings" thing. If you look at Sandman69's pic in the "Apes" thread that may be what you were referring to.

There are a lot of styles.  None that actually say for a Breakout.  The 49mm clamps will I'm sure work but they would require mounting below the lower tree brace.

I don't think these will work on the Breakout

I'm hoping that these will work on the Breakout.  I don't see how by the picture since we have the 49mm forks, but maybe.

I put these on a 2006 Low Rider - they worked well.  They use the bolt in the lower triple tree to mount on each side.

But will they work on the Breakout?   It's hard to tell by the picture.

I went with the bracket in the picture. It came from the Ultra if I am not mistaken as the one on the Street Glide did not match up. I get nothing but compliments on how much better it looks.

This.
Looks so much cleaner without the front turn signals.  My arms work great.

I don't think that I can mount the $140 Custom Dynamics Ringz running lights in my gloves!
