Custom Dynamics Turn/Brake Lights
« on: April 02, 2014, 12:19:27 PM »

I recently put some on my 2014 CVOBO, NO load equalizer needed (so they said) and no issues yet. They look great and are MUCH brighter. My question is has anyone else used these without issue. White as running lights, Amber when turning, White circle at night

I have them on my '12 Street Glide & have had zero issues with them. I think they're great & want to install them on my Breakout once I figure out where to put my signals.

Installed in my 2013 CVO road king
Easy to install and works great
Have it on the always flashing mode for maximum vis
annoying, but drivers have pulled over and expressed positive comments on my standing out in traffic.

Did you guys on the Breakout install the little CANBUS adapter, which links your brake wire to a ground wire?  They told me that I needed it (Custom Dynamics), but it doesn't sound logical to me.  Wouldn't that short out your brake lights?

I did. It's simple passive load balancer with a resistor to account for the resistance difference between regular bulbs and LED's.

I did not attach or connect anything, just plug them in and lights worked fine.

Can you provide the actual part numbers for the front and rear turn signal led bulbs?

Their under the fender light is really nice but a bit on the pricy side for sticky tape install.

I am still looking for my receipt but I ordered the LED turn/brake for the bike I called them and they put the order in per my bike. They said the 2014 CVO was just take old lights out and put these in. I will look and try to find the part number for you.

I installed the same setup on my 2014 CVO Breakout and the turn signal indicators on the dash did not flash correctly (they flashed too fast) and I also had two codes come up on the computer related to the LED lights.  I contacted Custom Dynamics and they informed me that HD change the BCM parameters on the 2014 CVO Breakouts.  They helped me thru all the issues and solved my problem by adding a new canbus adapter with a different resistor in each of the front turn signals.  Now everything works correctly and I do not get any codes.

I have the same fast flash on dash but the signals actually flash normally. I was told nothing could be done on the 2013 BO. I see there may be a solution. I may just give them a call before I order. I clear the codes once in a while from the BCM but they come right back. Minor irritation. I'm just using LED bulbs but they are brighter than stock and never burn out due to vibration. Standard bulbs seem to never last long on a motorcycle. My last bike went through the left front bulb ever few weeks. I installed LED bulbs with an equalizer on the 07STC and never had another problem.
