Air cleaner in the way of rear brake petal

(1/2) > >>

Ricky:
My air cleaner is in the way and prevents me from stepping directly on the rear brake petal.  Does anyone know how to move the brake petal out?

GregKhougaz:
Seems to be a unique issue to you. Is your bike stock. A photograph would help get you answers.

grc:

Ricky, you need to give us more information to have any chance of getting useful information in return.  Let us know what model and year bike you're talking about, and whether or not the air cleaner is stock.  If it's aftermarket, let us know what it is.

There are companies that make and sell alternatives to the stock brake pedal for Electra Glides, if that is the bike you're talking about.  Give us all the info and I'm sure you will get answers from people who have installed one of the aftermarket products.

My air cleaner is in the way and prevents me from stepping directly on the rear brake petal.  Does anyone know how to move the brake petal out?  My bike is a 2007 Electra Glide Ultra CVO with a Screamin Eagle air cleaner.  I have large calves that prevents me from getting my foot squarely on the brake pedal.  All I can reach is about 1/2" of the outside of the pedal.

grc:
The easiest way to do this would be with a wider brake pedal pad.  Kuryakyn makes a few, try this link for one of the better looking offerings:

You would want to verify with them that it will work with the CVO brake pedal.

If you are also having a problem with getting your foot completely on the footboard, you can get a spacer kit to move it outboard.  Just be careful how much you move it, as it affects lean angle.  I've found a 1" spacer makes a decent difference.
