Day Eight | Manitou Springs / Pueblo, CO | 200 miles

The day started with the intent to travel to a distant location for some odd sites but half way there a different decision was made.

The lesson of the day – Some times I am the hammer other times I am the nail!  Today I am a bent ail indeed!

Plenty of oddities in the property however it was not open at the time of my visit.  The name alone is interesting.

Suddenly I feel like a kid again!  Mommy may I have an ice cream?

I seem to recall an imagine of me as a child with my parents riding up on this type of train.  Ah memories.

The replacement incline is shut down for renovations and should open back up in several years.

The local library is ALWAYS OPEN.  “Nineteen” or not!

The late afternoon was filled with skeet ball, custard and lots of laughs!  Good Times!

Day Nine | Manitou Springs, CO – Ouray, CO | 400 miles

It was time to stay good bye to Manitou Springs and travel down the road.  My path would take be down Highway 24 and then to Highway 50.  This would take me to Monarch Pass, a place I have been through a number of times.

Highway 50 will take you through Gunnison and the Curecanti National Recreation Area.  Plenty of water around here to enjoy!
