Title: New changes to my ride
Post by: skratch on December 19, 2013, 06:36:45 PM
special thanks to joe z at xtreme dimension for the paint job on the lowers, denim black just wouldn't have looked right  :2vrolijk_21:

so now she's all dressed for the winter.  chopped tourpak so i can store my cold weather gear when i get to work, and the lowers to help with wind management and keeping the cold wind off my legs.  last winter, i think i only had to wear my chaps once.  call them ugly if you will, but they sure do work good.  well enough that i kept them on year round on my old bike.  just took the vent doors off during the summer months.

Looking good. Joe does some amazing work for sure. I see you have the TP moved up to the backrest position.

thanks....

yep, wife rides her own so no need to worry about any backseat....

and i got very lucky to be able to get the chrome screamin eagle emblem.  it was the last one he had, and he wasn't planning on doing anymore.  i've noticed he's since started round 4, but it looks like its going to be a good while before he gets the minimum number up to mfg.

This is by far the nicest looking RG I have seen!   :2vrolijk_21:  The lowers with the chopped TP look awesome!

Looks great.

I run a chopped tour pack in the solo position on my Skunk in the winter and for trips.  I had my 09 SERG set up with chopped pack in the solo position also.

Great looking Bike!!  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:
'Have the vented lowers on the '09 SERG, and the 12" windsplitter, you might want to try the Glide Air Deflector Systems - Lower Triple Tree Deflector, it's about $20 and replaces the HD 'dog dish'. 'Have finally found aerodynamic nirvana with the SERG :bananarock: no buffeting at any speed...

I didn't know you could run a tour pack where the passenger seat goes. I guess that would let the wife know when I want to ride alone! :o Can it be switched back and forth with the same bracket or do you need two brackets? I think it looks much more balanced even with the saddle bags.

no, there is a 2up bracket and a solo bracket.  i never ride with a pillion (wife rides her own) so we've both got them set up for rider comfort.  i agree that it looks balanced with the tourpak forward.  the 2014s really look like the tourpak is hanging way back there.

That was one of the reasons I never considered a tour pack, now I have to reconsider. Your combo Looks great!

Yep, if they come out with a 14.5 or 15 CVO road glide, I will run the new King Tour Pack in the solo position.  Its a nice tour pack and would look great moved forward.
