Last spring before I put my Street Glide up for storage (AZ) I changed the oil and tried to get the filter off. I had the oil changed the previous
year at a dealer because I had no time to do it! Well, low and behold, I couldn't get the filter off!!!! I tried everyting except
the old screwdriver trick! The engine oil was slightly warm, not hot. Anyone have a good
idea? I've tried 3 different filter wrenches!!!!

Try one of these.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231018/f2864febf1df685c1ceb63b4bc1450a9.jpg)

I had a similar issue a few years ago and used a Strap Wrench.
At first used the same as OBB suggested but started to slip off so I pull the pin on that one before I did some damage.

I use both at work. NAPA's have a lifetime warranty.
Be careful using the claw type, the crank sensor might be close and if it is it could get broken if the tool slips off the filter.
-
If the filter wrenches are spinning on the filter, I've used thin metal strips on the flats or small strips of sand paper to take up the gap between filter and wrench flats to remove filters.
-
Turn in a self tapping screw through the wrench and unto the filter. I have had to do that two times.....both after dealer OCs...then there is the excessive torque applied to the drain plugs!

This is simply caused by the tech or whoever did the oil change not lubing the seal with oil as every filter manufacturer instructs to do.

In addition to no lube on o-ring would be screwing the filter on too tight.
1/2 to 3/4 turns after o-ring contact should be enough.

K&N filter next time. Better than the HD and has a 17mm hex on the end for easy removal.

I have an extra 6 pt 17 mm handy just for K&N filters
