Dealer told me can't have two devices married to a Bike?
« on: February 21, 2020, 02:45:16 PM »

Hello all,
Dealer told me that if you have a tuner married to your bike you can't marry a second one to it.
For example if you have a street tuner already married to your bike, you can't marry another one like a power vision to it.
Doesn't sound correct, is it?

I have a 2011 that has TTS and power vision married to it

Also have a 2015 with SE Pro Tuner and Power vision Married to it.

What you can’t do is over write a newer TTS map with another tuner until you put back in the stock map.

Whomever is giving you advice is mistaken

I guess my question is why do you need 2 devices? Isn't one of them doing the trick?

Now I have seen a situation more than once , by where a bike had originally had a Supertuner pro connected/"married" to the bike from new.

Over time and the "three+ owner" scenario whereby the original Super tuner pro goes AWOL on the journey.

As a 5 year old 3+ owner bike I go to reflash with another tuner and the reflash baulks with he ABORT message after reading the VIN etc.

The reflash will not proceed. This may be exactly what your dealer is describing , as I am trying Super Tuner pro onto a bike that has already had Super tuner Pro previously.

I have also experienced the TTS "lockout" scenario , usually on used bikes brought to Australia from the US and/or other places like Europe or Japan. TTS dongle gone AWOL...

In those few similar cases TTS have helped jump that hurdle with their "unlock" calibrations but it is a wee bit of a pain to line up all those ducks.

The very best way to get a good answer to your question would be to pose that question to people like Steve Cole at TTS.  He is intimately familiar with not only his own product but also with the Harley product.  You won't get a straight answer from H-D to a question about dumping their product for an aftermarket product.

I'm no where close to being as knowledgeable as most here. but this is to my understanding

What you can’t do is over write a newer TTS map with another tuner until you put back in the stock map.

I've got a SEtuner on 2 of 3 bikes. if I had to do it over I'd do a TTS
