I just stumbled across ad ad for New Zipper Performance Red Shift 525 CAMs and Red Shift Dual Piston Hydraulic CAM Tensioners.
The 525 CAMs state Increased TQ and HP at 2000 Range, but No dyno information using them on any FL.
They also claim quicker throttle response, Increased TQ and HP with the Red Shift Dual Piston CAM Tensioners.

Has anyone tried either of these yet?
Wondering if it is typical Ad Hype or some degree of performance?

If you are thinking of these for your '03 SERK they may not be the ones for you...

Red Shift® 525 Cams for 2007-Up Touring Models

The new Red Shift® 525 Cams deliver an impressive gain in HP,with a HUGE increase in early torque – right where you accelerate around town and cruising on the highway!

Perfect for 96” and 103” 2007-Up Touring models, this cam was developed to deliver immediate passing power in 6th gear at 60-65 mph. Red Shift® 525 cams provide immediate throttle response and acceleration at or below 2,000 rpms without detonation

Red Shift® 525 cams have a unique design feature which produces an extremely fast and turbulent inlet charge in the combustion chamber at low rpms. Inducing turbulence in the chamber as early as possible is the secret to the 525’s tremendous results. This equates to immediate throttle response and acceleration in RPMs,lower than ever before possible on a stock 2007-up Twin Cam® engine.

I have asked Zipper about that "2007 and up".
I have upgraded to the new Billet Plate, larger Oil Pump and the Hydraulic Cam tensioners.
Waiting to see what they have to say.

There is one other difference, inner cam bearing size.  So unless they offer this cam in a hybrid version with the late model bearingless outer cam journals and the older model inner cam bearing journal size, often called a "conversion" cam, it still won't work even though you converted the cam plate to the new style.

Let us know what you find out. I have been reluctant to move away from the stock 255's because with my driving style, I am not willing to give up that "hit" at around 2200rpm's. I know I should change my style but I am just to fricken old to change. I love the way my 110 runs but would certainly love to get "more" without giving anything up (reliability, low end grunt etc). Thanks

Those cams won't work in our older engines Dennis.  The cam plate change you did was an upgrade but it was an upgrade within the old format.

Zippers has a better cam for your 103" engine anyway.  Check out the Redshift 575 if you're shopping Zippers.  Was designed for the 103" engine specifically and did a great job.

The dual-piston tensioners, seem to be quite a nice unit.
Used 'em 3 times now.
A 124" build, tuned in Ohio, was commented, that "it was THE quietest 124, they had ever heard".
Note that it had Wood TW-9F-6 cams. :)

It is kind of a two fold question on my part. My neighbor, riding buddy - age 70, has and 09 RK and is on the fence right now about maybe a new 2013 RK or keep this one.
One of the things he really wants is that low rpm TQ, he rides 2 up a lot. One of the points for the 525 in his case would be "For Standard Heads".
As for Me, Thats - I will check out the 575s you mentioned.

Dennis, if you check out the tensioners Hillside is mentioning here check this thread also:

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=74040.0

The parts had come up for discussion before when Hillside first suggested them to the site.  They may be great parts.  But while the agreement was not absolute and universal a general concensus seemed that paying twice as much as even Mother Harley gets for a part doing comparable work wasn't something most of us seemed willing to do.  Me included.

Single case anecdotal evidence notwithstanding it's also hard to be convinced these tensioners, in and of themselves, account for "THE quietest" (emphasis in original) engine someone ever heard.  Original sales hyperbole from the Zippers website made the following claims:

Restores Critical Camshaft Timing Events for Both Cylinders
- Reduced Valve Train Noise by Increasing Chain and Valve Train Stability
- Improved Throttle Response, Engine Acceleration and Engine Smoothness
- Increased Horsepower and Torque Throughout the Entire RPM Range
- Increased Valve Train Component Lifespan in High Performance Applications

Throttle response, increased horsepower and celestial imaginings to calm the mind.  All from a pair of chain tensioners.

These parts are for a 2007 and newer motor.  But the cam plate you put in does switch to the newer style tensioners.  So if you wanted to blow another $160 replacing the tensioners you just installed to gain "The quietest" motor with improved throttle response, horsepower, torque and better celestial calmness "throughout the entire RPM range" this is definitely the place to piss away $160 to consider spending your money.

Here we go again

No we do not.
I came, I asked questions and I received answers.
I am not going that route. I have received good information from the group to convince me of that.

Cheers

 :)Ayah, that I am.

Heard back from Zippers today. They suggested the 575, just exactly what you suggested.
According to Zippers the 575TC was made specifically for the CVO 103.

It was.  There's a lot that Zippers does wrong (support after the fact, general verity, and the band plays on) but that cam isn't one of their failings.  It's a good cam for your engine.  Early and strong torque curve.  I ran it for a couple years.  Never a complaint.  It's a really good cam choice.
