That's the "Pilot", right?  I got a friend in our HOG group that bought one and he likes it a lot.  I haven't played with one yet.  The dealership sold their first shipment of them quick.

I thought it was cool and looked into it before Harley had one and why I did not buy it was reasons from other reviewers -

It weighs in at about 5 lbs, its loud, sometimes the modular parts rattle in the wind, visor is narrow and fogs up easy, its hot. It's also $20 cheaper without the Harley sticker on it, it's just a rebadged Scorpion Covert helmet with a different mouth guard. And being that the Covert has vents in the mouth guard, losing them might make it even hotter. And its only DOT for the half shell, you don't get the strength of a full face helmet with this modular set up so don't think you do.

Per the MoCo website, the weight is 3lb, 6 but that may be as a half helmet without the other two parts attached.

Interesting looking helmet.  I want one in white so I can be a storm trooper..... :bananarock:

You can spend $225 for the Harley branded model or go straight to the actual manufacture of the Harley piece (Scorpion) and get one a bit cheaper.  They have a video on how it works, too.

I looked at one, Looks pretty cool but the chin-guard part does not fit tight and secure as the one on my Shoei Muti-tech. It would have to rattle in the wind. I personally did not think it was something I would trust to protect me. JMHO.

How fast does it come apart when your head hits the ground or some other solid object.....even at a glancing blow?   :nixweiss:

JCZ has a solid thought here. I took an advanced riding class a couple years ago, One guy on a softail went down and tore the chinbar off a modular helmet. It was a Scorpion but I have no idea of the model. This fellow had NEVER used the front brake, said he had been riding for 50 years, Instructor was assisting him in learning and he just pulled hard as he could and then turned to left.

That's probably a good reason why only the half-shell is DOT then. I know Snell won't certify any kind of modular helmet, not sure if DOT does.
