Title: An FNG from HB
Post by: Captain Pancake on January 13, 2015, 11:57:20 AM
Hello all!

Just picked up a 2006 CVO Ultra with 18K miles. It's like new!! I love it!! So far everything works. No funny noises.

Pretty much stock bike with the following exceptions: Rinehart true duals and slip-on's. Power Commander with a dyno tune at 1k miles.

Dropping it off at Cycledoctor http://cycledoctor.com/ this week to have the SE camchain kit installed to alleviate the typical tensioner problems. New Michelin tires, Lyndall brake pads and 20K service with SWEPCO fluids.

Looking forward to chatting and picking up on all the tips and secrets of CVO ownership. :pepper:

Congratulations on your new CVO and Welcome to the site from The Lowcountry of South Carolina!
I hope this may be of interest to you.
Attending a GTG is the best way to get to know the members and put a face to those screen names. Many a lasting friendship have come out of these GTG's,
So. if you want to meet people, ride some awesome roads, kick back and have fun, come to one or all of the GTG's. ( For the newbies out there, GTG = Get Together )
Make your plans now and avoid the rush. In other words, stop pondering and get a hankering and make reservations and attend.
See ya'll there.
The GTG's are in the event section of the board.
Here is the link to the western GTG in June:

Welcome,....great looking bike!

Are you going to have Geoff Gates Dyno it as well?

Mark

Yes, eventually. His Dyno is down now and he has a bit of a wait list. The new to me CVO has a power commander and was dyno'd by the previous owner. It runs strong so I'm okay for now. I will have Geoff put a TTS on and dyno it. He set up my '13 SG and its very strong. Geoff's worth every $ he charges. Great shop!

I dropped off the bike today.

Thanks to all the welcomes!

Cpt. Pancake, what mpgs do you get city and highway? I have the same bike and am curious.

Thanks!

Good question Iron. I haven't had a chance to get a good read on the mpg yet. I did a ride down to San Diego with the wife. We hit a lot of traffic and ended up taking Coast hwy from Oceanside down. When I topped off for the return it looked like around 32mpg but again, that was quick math in my head. Ill follow up with you when I get her back.

Have you been happy with yours? So far I love it. Very comfortable.

I love mine. I've had it since 2010 and have added a Baker 6 speed, and a paint matched full size tourpack. I also had the IronCross iPod hook up installed in the stereo. Next week I'm having Ohlins #6 shocks installed in the rear and a Michelin Commander II rear tire.

I live near LAX. SoCal has a pretty good crew and we ride regularly, look forward to riding with you. This is a great site, good people, good info, good times, and good fun. No BS or high school drama.

Hope you can make the 2015 Get Together in Ouray Colorado. It's June 14-19th, and you can find a link for it under the events section.

Welcome again.

Mark
