Newbie from Maryland
« on: June 18, 2007, 03:21:30 PM »

Hello,

I have a 2006 VRSCSE2 which has been a dream to own.

A few months ago I purchased a FLHTCUSE2 which has been an overheating nightmare!

I have tried the following to cool her down with no luck:
Thunder Max with AutoTune
V&H dresser duals and V&H ovals
Kuryakyn heat shields
Cooling fan by Lenale
Removed lower fairings
Amsoil
Oil cooler "factory installed"

I am going to get started searching the forum to see what other people have tried.

John,
Welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: Some of the things you've already done most of us have done to alleviate some of the heat problems. Not sure what you're comparing the heat to, but if it's your V-Rod the heat will be more on your CUSE2 just because of engine design. The 103ci and higher displacement motors are none to put off more heat then other H-D's (80ci, 88ci, and 96ci). When you get a chance post some pics of your rides here.

Welcome to the site.  You have done what others have tried.  What was the starting temp range and what is it currently.  You might also wrap the exhaust with heat wrap.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and helpful ideas!

I am glad to be a part of your fine group.

I will post a few pictures this weekend.

I am still working to get the heat down.  If I get caught in stop and go traffic the oil hits over 300 degrees and it starts pinging like hell.  I have to pull off the road and bake on the hot asphalt while she cools down.
