Hi! I am a newbie to this site and to riding. My hubby wanted to get a winter beater so we went looking one day in Sept. We ended up at the Harley dealers (even though they don't sell 4 wheel drives!). The only bike there that I really liked was an 06 VRSCSE 2. He fell in love and purchased it the next day! He had a low rider when we met, but sold it for a down payment on our home 17 years ago. Now the house is paid off so he deserved to get another bike. I road bitch for a few weeks and he complained that I needed to get my own bike. Not knowing if I would like, or even be able to handle a bike, I took the riding course at our local dealer's. You see, I have been in a bike accident with my first husband and spent 2 weeks in the hospital with a sever case of road rash then took 3 months to get back to normal. So I was a little, no...I was extremely scared of riding on my own. NE ways, I completed the course, got my license and was set to get a small bike. I kept looking, but didn't see anything I wanted except the FXDSE2. Thought that this would be to much for my 1st bike, but finally figured that I might as well get what I want right away, as I wouldn't be truly happy with settling for anything else. The only problem now is that there is about a foot and a half of snow on the ground and both bikes are in the den! I can't wait for spring and to get on the road again!

Two gorgeous bikes. Heck of a nice first bike too. Way to go, congratulations and we look forward to many ride reports on your bike, of course, once the snow melts. Welcome aboard. There are very few of the female CVO owner represented here, so I like the company.

where is detroit? ive travelled many miles through ME. i like taking RT 1 from MA all the way up to madawaska. theres some stretchs of a whole lot of nothing, but some nice scenic areas as well

Detroit is about half way between Bangor and Augusta. It's just a little village with one small store and not much else. Don't blink or you'll miss it!

I lived in Leominster from 00 to 05. Lived and worked as a private chef at the Doyle estate. Too bad we didn't have the bikes then, we could have gotten together. Hope all is well in Clinton and wishing you a very Happy New Year!

I think the safety course was a great idea. I had my son take it which makes me feel better about him having a pocket-rocket. Watch for moose, I had a close encounter with one on Rt 9 near Biddeford Pool back in 1999.

I took a hiatus from this site as I was.....note-I said WAS... addicted to it. I would spend endless hours in front of my monitor and waste away. Now that winter is back, and no riding, I have decided that I should return. This time I will have control over my visits as I do have a life. Hey,

if you don't mind. I am planning a trip in June from Michigan to Bar Harbor, and beyond. Please shoot me a list of must travel roads and sites if you find time? We will be traveling the south side of lake ontario, along the st lawerence, through lake placid and accross lake champlain to bar harbor. from there we head south through the catskills to eastern pennsylvania and home. all in all, a 2,500 mile loop.
