I have a picture (right side up) of a ride we took with JC.
He said "we are going to pick up the pace a bit."

And he did, for the next 30 miles the GPS read 100.
When we started climbing the mountain he slowed down, , , , to 90.
What a ride.

Things happen quickly at Speed. I don't go past 110 very often. I have done 135 in 6th but couldn't tell you the RPM, I was too busy being scared. I had been cruising at 80 to 85 for miles on interstate.
There were several big trucks in front of me stirring up debris and I got tired of it so I passed them as fast as could. It was weird slowing down to 80 again it felt slow. Then about 40 miles  later I got a ticket  for 80 in a 70. Bright side is he didn't get me at almost full throttle in 6th.

I can do 110 to 115 in 5th at 5200 rpm then hit 6th.  Got good gearing and a .86 O.D. gearset with 118 hp@ 5600 rpm and 125 TQ @ 3800 rpm and bike weight 575 lbs. I LIKE IT!

6th in the cruise drive is 1:1  and tire growth is one item that effects speedo cal .. I run them on the dyno all the time and many times will re adjust for the customer if tuner in use allows that function.. I see well over 100  as we do run bikes in 6th gear as the dyno is calibrated to run them at that rate per DJ.. I see 140+ MPH and even then its not off by much 3-5 mph is an avg.   ( at that speed there is some tire growth)   I would look to see at 100 or so less than.. HD has been better with the speedo thing in the last few years.. No idea as to why as earlier bikes it was common to see GPS and dyno MPH numbers that where 5+ off vs what the speedo read  Speedo read was for the most part faster than actual . Not so much any longer

GPS said 126mph as my max speed obtained...  still felt like there was more throttle and rpm remaining, but the aerodynamics (lack thereof) seemed like I had hit a wall.  Even with a slight down hill grade, it didn't seem to want to go any faster.  That, and I'd had enough of the adrenaline so I've not revisited the attempt.

Hub is that on the Speedo or on the GPS that you are getting that speed reading?

That's the speedo and the tach.  I'll do it again with the GPS, or is it already recorded in the GPS?  If it is, how do I pull it up?  Later--HUBBARD

Which GPS are you using?   If its Garmin or RoadTech it should be able to do MaxSpeed in a window to tell you what the speed was.
