Just Glare on the new Bike. You can buy the Wax from and on-line Honda Dealer. It is called Honda-Glare and sells for around $19.95 instead of $39.95 from Glare.

I use the spydar and then the wax, works well. But I'm not known for the cleanest bike in town, that's why I use glare, I don't have to wax every time I ride.

You won't regret it once the initial 'rubbing in' phase is over....that's the hardest part, but once it's bonded with the paint, just a light touch up every once and awhile is really all you need.  Looks great and protects the paint on these beautiful machines.  Well worth the extra $$$ and effort.  ;) (jmho).  :drink: har!  spyder

I use Captain Richard's Best. I don't know how it compares with Glare since I've never used that. You can Google captain richards best and find the website. It cleans and polishes the whole bike(paint, chrome, windshield, whatever). It's easy to use and does a great job. Is anyone else using it?

Check out the product line from Menzerna for polish and Black Fire for wax.
Best combo I have ever used and I am FANATICAL about paint.

I'm of the opinion that any wax you use should be 100% Carnuba, or as much Carnuba content as possible.

Menzerna and Black Fire are damn pricey but the results will astound and amaze!

What's wrong with Turtle Wax?  Just kidding. I have used it and it seems to hold up fine. I have not tried any of the others however.

Well ... I am in the process of trying to GET a new SESG (lol) - not in my hot little hands yet :'(
Typically it is 30 days for fresh paint but I haven't seen any disclaimers on new vehicles. Probably because the paint is already 30 days old by the time they are delivered. My process is clay, polish, wax. Repeat wax about once a month, polish about 2-3 times a year depending on exposure. I detail with Black Fire Ivory Carnuba spray in between.

Place where I get my stuff is here ... and they have good info on detailing as well:

Title: "Glare" ... not so much ...
Post by: TIF2 on September 03, 2009, 01:34:39 AM
I went to the link for Glare (http://www.glare.com/) in order to find out what I was missing. Seems a bit cheesy to me - I know people LOVE it but there is so much wrong with the site I felt I needed to post. I'll list them and feel free to attack the proposed "benefits" of Glare over conventional means:

1. It supposedly contains a new formula (GLASSPLEXIN - registered) that creates (or eludes to create) a glass barrier on paint. Unfortunately - glass is just as susceptable for minor surface scratches as modern paint is.

2. Physics dictates that it is impossible for paint to oxidize "under the clear coat". While I am neither a Chemist nor a Physicist, I would challenge both to disprove my statement. The statement  by Glare implies that the top-coat, or clear, would be perfectly glossy while the under-coat would be oxidized. Oxidaztion is an affect created by UV rays and affects the entire surface of exposure. While Glare states to block UV rays, it offers no test data to support the statement.

3. I was astounded by the video - a buffer being loaded up while the bonnet has been laying on the ground? Even if they didn't use that same buffer in the pic below it (but c'mon - we know they did), the fact that they SHOT a bonnet on the ground tells me they know NOTHING about polishing paint.

To each his own, but in my opinion (and experience) there are no magic fixes for paint. When you see paint that has been finished properly - it looks like no other. It takes a LOT of time, but it's ok! - it's coupled with a lot of elbow-grease as well. I know this is a popular product- and if you order in the next 20 minutes  we'll DOUBLE the offer.... :)

Not me ...

And btw ... my vehicles look like the RIGHT side of the BMW used for beading tests - you know - the one that has the "wet shine"? I saw the left side that is touting Glare and thought ... I could do something here ... ;)

Has anyone ever tryed Zano?
I have this on my car and my HD.
After stripping the old wax off..
Lay the base or prime down then
You put on as many coats as you like.
So easy to clean, I use Zano, Mothers or Meguries quick detail.
The shine stays for years.....
Just trying to help.....

I'm using this kit and I am VERY pleased with the results. It pops the paint like nothing I've used before:

Menzerna to polish when needed and Black Fire about once a month. Detail in between with the Ivory Carnuba spray.

Never have used Glare.  Zaino is not a polish (even though they call it a polish).  It is a sealer.  You have to get the paint looking good and the Zaino products will seal (from the atmosphere) the paint and keep it looking good.  When we have salt on our vehicles in the winter, I can spray the car with water before washing and the paint will bead up thru the dirt/salt.

Polishes/protectants are just like oils, there is probably not a bad product out there today if USED CORRECTLY.

"Polish for perfection, wax for protection".   Remember those words (not mine).

Wise words indeed.
Might be kind of fun to have a "Detail Day" where folks can brings their favorite products and we try them out. See various results, strengths/weaknesses, etc. Maybe pickup some detailing tips along the way.

I'll provide some suds (the consumable type).

I'm a pretty big fan of Zaino Bros. products, but I may give the Glare product line a shot.   I'm always one for trying something new.   Generally I do the complete Zaino treatment, then finish with S100 Paste wax.

What I use is Turtle Wax "ICE" wash solution for my soap water. Dry, then use a product called, "Protect All", blue can aerosol. Spray and wipe, contains a protective wax. Shines the paint, chrome, show shine results. My dealer carries this brand, about 8-10 bucks a can, and well worth it, can lasts a long time..
