Look good. Have done that on several cars with low front ends( 911, etc.). Still have mine in box for 06 SEUC. Will wait to hear more on your impression in future if you think make difference. Seems fairing, lowers, and at least front of saddle bags would mininum to cover. Hope it still looks as good in a month, john

I just stuck it near the window in the showroom and the metalflake really shows well.  I know it will look great in a month, I just hope it looks really great :2vrolijk_21:

Here's a pick that shows the crimson coming through the 3M film.  Pretty shiny too.

Uh oh, was I supposed to ask?  :huepfenlol2:

I'll call and see what he says, this was the first one he's done with all the pieces.

This installer said it would be $350.00 installed.

I like having it installed since he's really good about backing up his work and should a piece need adjustment or reinstallation it is guaranteed by him.  (hope he stays in business)

Hey Roger, protective film looks great!!
You mention the installer had a kit... our guy just has been free hand cutting ours.
I wonder where he gets the pre cut panels from??

For anyone who has not seen the "latest" generation of protective film, times have changed and this stuff is VERY good looking now.
The acutal film is much thinner than before and the edges seem to stay put!

$350.00 installed.

Just FWIW, the package that arrived here with all the pre-cut pieces was $140 for the 3M kit.  So apparently that's a pretty average parts cost.  Would be worth a fair bit for a knowing install with guaranteed re-do if something isn't right.  I just couldn't find a film installer around here who was willing to do it on a bike.

Amen to that Brother Mark.  Amen to that.  I'd not be choosing to pay a full $200 for the install when all the product was only $130.00.  So we'll see how handy I am with a squeegee and a squirt bottle in a few days.

Several of the companies that are out there have the patterns.  The guy we use said he has two different ones that both have bike patterns.

Don mentioned he isn't doing the hard bags, but I figured it was there and once it was on I was impressed with it.  He's bringing some wax that is designed to clean and shine it too, so I'll pass that along as well when I find out what it is.

The really good part of all of this is if I decided I didn't like it, it comes off with a heat gun and some solvent to wipe the glue residue off.

Definitely get the name of that product.  All I was told was "most products will work but nothing with any kind of abrasives."  When I tried to clarify that "most" suggestion the little girl on the phone just said "I dunno."

This sounded like some new product he was getting from the supplier that was specifically for the film applications.  I'll talk with him tomorrow, I just got an order to do a Turbo for delivery so he'll be back up.

Had to go check the package to remember for sure AJ.  A place called StickerCity out in Van Nuys.

Here's a link to the product itself:

http://www.stickercity.com/store/product.php?productid=18566

I'd remembered the price wrong too.  The 3m version was $121.94 for a precut kit to do the whole bike.
