What to use for Mag Wheels
« on: October 05, 2012, 03:08:13 PM »

I had a Bird that dive bombed my Mag wheel and after trying to clean it it has left a stain that I can't seem to get off.
I have used a household cleanser, Mothers chrome polish, and Never Dull Polish with a lot of elbow grease. None of it worked. :nixweiss:
What is suggested? :confused5:

Need to keep the Never-Dull away from Chrome. If you are talking about bare alum wheels Never-Dull should have done it  Chrome would not stain from bird crap so I assume you are talking alloy, and I can not figure why you would use chrome polish on a alum wheel. Try Mothers Billet if doing it by hand or Mother Machine for Alum if with a machine.

I use it all the time on my wheels. They're chromed, aluminum Performance Machine wheels.

Could also try Colonel Brassy cleaner. I used it on chrome wheels yesterday with very good results. Recommend you wear solvent resistant rubber gloves when using it.

The wheels are stock wheels that came on the '12 Trike from Harley. I'm unsure which they are. :nixweiss:

Wanaride you are using chrome polish on a chrome plated wheel. A bare alum wheel is a different item altogether.

Yeah... I know. But at the time, he didn't specify that, nor did you. That's why I was specific about my wheels. No worries, just addressing what seemed like a generalization.

The HD Dealer said that they are polished Mags and that I could try a Dremel buffing wheel and some Mothers mag polish.  What do you all think?
