I assembled all the parts and Z-Man Machining in Chico, CA did the tech work. He is a primo motor builder -ran a super charged Iron Head at Booneville this last summer. I haven't run it yet as the rest of the bike isn't finished. However, when I picked it up I said, "Is this going to run?" meaning start on the first try. He siad, "Sailor. This MoFo gonna run!"

Gentlemen: The beast is back on it's wheels. I fired the engine last night. Turned over almost one full rotation before it started. Sounded great, but, as with all things Harley, there is some ajusting, bleeding, tighting and shining to do. As soon as my partner e-mails me the pictures, I'll try and post one of the finished project. [smiley=laugh.gif]

I know all the big bike-big block guys will wonder about us dinosaurs still hopping up Evo's, but hey, to each his own. [smiley=laugh.gif]

I figure those guys with all their Screaming Eagle hardware are at least partially to blame for the new hole in my checkbook  I just installed SE heads, SE ignition module, SE roller tappets, SE coil, Andrews EV27 cam, and Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake on my FXR2.  My interpretation as to what this bike would have been if the CVO had jumped into the SE catalog in 1999.  Well, I did allow myself to vary on the cam and intake.

I had been thinkig all the way home from Maggie Valley last Spring about doing this and I finally pulled the trigger.

Anyway, the new rings aren't broken in yet, but early results are just what I wanted--a lot more throttle response and power overall.  Roll on the gas now and it really pulls like a whole new bike.  As the new rings break in I'll know more but so far it's great. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

RedFX.........sounds great!  How many miles on the rebuild so far?  Are you gonna do the Dyno measurement or just 'seat of the pants' and 'grins per mile' determination of the performance increase?  I'll be standing by for the feedback.   [smiley=beerchug.gif]  spyder
