I'm looking for a high quality 41 mm aluminum fork holding tool that I can use to service my CVO Ultra forks, torque the fork tube plug down, hold a spring compressor, etc. I've looked at the Harley tool, part no. HD 41177. It looks okay, but I'm wondering if there is something more durable, stronger, and better, made just for 41 mm tubes. I found a company called Storz Performance, Inc., in CA, but they make the fork holding tools only for 43 mm, 45 mm, and 49 mm fork tubes and couldn't give me any further recommnedations. In the past I've used hard rubber soft jaws in my vice but it's not a very good method for holding the entire fork assembly with a spring compressor attached. If there isn't a better tool I'll get the Harley one. Thanks for any info.

Have you seen the Jim's 2251?

Just found a few links. Quick look this was the cheapest found.

I bought my fork holder from a Ebayer in the Midwest for around $35 but don't see them on there right now. It can be seen in "the servicing AK20 thread".

The Jim's 2251 is what I use at the shop.

Thanks, looks exactly what I need, and if HD-Dude is using it, it must be good. It's ordered and on the way.

I set the bottom end on an old piece of carpet, the wife held the top tube fully extended while I mashed the cap down and twisted with my palm until a few threads caught. :'( Cap only shot off once! :D
