First Warranty Issue
« on: November 12, 2012, 10:29:53 AM »

Well after having my 2013 CVO Road Glide only one week, my LED Fuel Gauge has 2 LED's Burnt out already. I'm taking it in today and see if they can replace it while I wait.
Anyone else have this issue?

Not on my CVO, but I have the same type of gauge on my '08 Rocker, and yes, it had a couple LED's burn out.  Dealership did not want to replace it, even though the gauge was only a few months old, but I reminded them of how much money I've spent with them, and the eventually caved.  Your CVO's gauge should be replaced under warranty without any issues, as it was a factory installed part.

Some people have claimed that they will all eventually do this.....not sure if it's true, but my replacement had an "A" at the end of the part number, and is a slightly different design, so who knows.

Your bike is too new for any dealer to give you any hassle...this should be replaced under warranty, no problems.

"Your CVO's gauge should be replaced under warranty without any issues, as it was a factory installed part".

but my replacement had an "A" at the end of the part number.

I had the same issue on my 08 , half LED's burnt out.
Replacement had an  'A'  at then end of part number.
I check the difference between the two and the older gauge allowed water to get to electric's, rev A was a better design sealing electric's.

No problems since replacement.

Have had multiple bikes with this  guage, different years. Never had any lights burn out, but the one on my '12 CVO RG was so dim could only see at night. Dealer changed it out under warrenty w/o hesitation!

Took it in last Monday, the dealer said they had to order the part, got word today that the Gauge id on back order with Harley until December 13th WTF, this bike was only 1 week old, I should not have to wait for a replacement part that long, I guess its a good thing it was not a major part and I can still ride the bike until it comes in.
