Dyno Results
« on: September 12, 2006, 10:28:06 AM »

I forgot to mention but when I was out to Sturgis, I set up an appointment with John Golden to get a PC Map made. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in the bottomline numbers, but then again the ambient temperature in his dyno trailer was 113 degrees.

I was however surprised on how rich he had to set it to obtain the best all around numbers. When he had the A/F ratio completely flat it lost power - Weird. Perhaps that was a function of the high temperatures?  BTW - I was told the Big Radius are terrible for power, fwiw. I knew they wouldn't provide the same level of performance as a 2 into 1, but I certainly didn't think they'd be a liability. Oh well, at least they look good.

Interesting, I have an appointment with John this Saturday at Hot Springs, AR. for my SEEG. After I get the SEEG done, I'm going to have him do the SED but I'll have to wait until he is back in this area or catch him on the road somewhere.

I have the identical configuration on my SED...I am OK with the results but don't forget, these are the "B" engines with the associated overhead.

BTW....Even if I lost 10 lb-ft of torque I would still keep the Big radius!!! ;D ;D ;D

I would just stroke it to 110" to "offset" the lost power AND keep the cool Big Radius pipes!
The best of both worlds!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Actually I've been kickin' around the idea of pulling the motor and trans and boxing them for a 124" / Baker 6spd. However, the 'investment' hasn't been received very well by the boss. I gotta come up with a better angle.   ;)

Do the swap, hide the box, say you had it re-tuned for more power...not that I thought about it!

Oh, I have no problem hiding the drivetrain in my packed garage. It's more finding the $10K...

Welcome aboard Joe, it's about time someone breathed a little live into this SED board. I was thinking for a while there, we'd get mothballed any day. Us Deuce riders get no respect!   :nixweiss:   ;D

I think its 'cause so few of us have SED's...and they're getting rarer.
I stopped off at the LI Motorcycle fair today and only 1 other "regular" Deuce in the entire parking lot. Sh*t! there were more Vespa scooters than Deuce's! Sad...
