Late start to Winter Mods....
« on: February 10, 2012, 06:35:39 PM »

Well, decided to get a king tour pack matched to the bike along with the HD LED Head Lamp.  Plan on commuting more on the bike so figured this was a good start.  Next mod will be replacing the stock mufflers w/ full sac cores I have.

Anyone want to trade me for Nightstick mufflers?

Also sent the right side saddle bag out for paint repair with Paint by Gene.  Minor damage to the tune of $200 to repair.

Fortunately we have been blessed with a milder winter in Tejas - I have actually gotten out for a couple of short jaunts.

On the list though before the heavy spring riding begins:
1.  Passing Lights on front - still haven't decided on the type yet (if I want to upgrade to the LED Headlamp)
2.  More lights on the back end
3.  GPS integrated with the sound system - pulled the trigger on this one - it just came in and I will let my dealer install it for the hour labor they want to charge.  I hope that gps lets you select a voice that screams left turn bitch!
4.  Nitrogen in the tires - local shop next to me does it cheap, free lifetime refills, just haven't rolled the new bike over there yet.
5.  Adding some heated gear, luggage to ride in the cooler weather/longer rides.

I just got my bike in December, so I have already done this:
Upgraded seat, passenger backrest, 4 point dock, removable luggage rack, removable larger passenger back rest, V&H Heads/Pipes, Tuned, passenger footpegs moved up to rider footpegs, passenger floorboards, windsplitter windshield (puts the air volume at the top of my helmet, above my face).  Just getting warmed up at $5K in.

I have that king tour pack coming in and 7" LED headlight.

Does anyone back a tour pack lock?  I'm concerned about someone stealing it since it is detachable.

HD makes one.  Not sure how secure it is, but they make a lock for anything quick release (luggage rack, tour pack, sissybar/backrest, etc.).
