Just got a call from my son who's racing at Road Atlanta this week. During practice this morning he went into turn one too hot, lost the rear tire and low sided. He's OK! No unrepairable damage to the bike. At least nothing that couldn't be taken care of with my credit card number!
This just hasn't been his year for racing. Two weeks ago he went down at Barber doing slight damage to the himself and the bike. Two months before that someone stole his race trailer which contained all his race equipment including tools, compressor, generator, tires, spare parts, leathers, helments, camping equipment, etc. Luckly he had his race bikes in the shop, not the trailer. A loss to his sponsor (me) of about 15K.
Here's hoping next year is better!

Tommy,
I'm sorry to hear about your son. Hopefully, he'll use it all as a learning experience and be on a better track next year. I know ... it doesn't help your wallet but at least it's tax deductible!! ;D

Sorry to hear about your son, Tommy, but glad he is OK. That's just part of learnin', I guess. Barber is your fault, though. You should have told him the best line around there seeing how you did the parade lap back in April and all. :nixweiss: ;D :D ;)

Tommy, sure do hope your son heals fast. Sorry to hear about his troubles.

Glad to hear he's OK. How is he doing other than the few mishaps this year?

being a privateer was very tough decades ago, i cant imagine today. im sure he is a great racer. sometimes a cloud of bad luck clears and turns into many, many wins!!!!!

Glad to hear he's o.k. I am sure the experience will allow him to grow and improve his performance. Best of luck to you both!
