very professionally composed, my only suggestion would be that our membership is truly in world-wide proportions, not only the US......

well done!

Dwayne, not sure how this is allowed from your corporate letterhead/envelopes, but I guess your the VP so you can make the rules.  I think that will have a positive effect on it actually getting thru.  Honestly, how many letters like this do you think get thru to you though??

Fr8trn, I would like to think all of them, I talk to our customers all the time when I can, and if I don't I make sure that someone from our office does. good or bad I like to know what is going on. We are a small brand in a big brand bussiness ( Pepsi and Coke )

This is just my two cents based on 52 years of getting what I want out of people. I think you should make nice this first letter. I'm not suggesting you should lie down and be a good dog, but be prepared to hear from the MoCo's legal dept if you're threatening legal action  They are very aggresive about stuff like this  You might want to plead your case from a more positive direction in this letter. Leave out the remarks about other owners etc and stick to your own problems in as polite a fashion as you can. Be prepared to write two, three whatever it takes more letters and get more and more direct with each one

You are an excellent communicator and I'm not suggesting otherwise, I'm just advocating a campaign vice one decisive battle

Big Brian

Dwayne,
Given our experiences with the MoCo before it's not certain what kind of a response you'll receive.

I read in one of the cycle mags from H-D that the CEO is waiting to take delivery of his own FLHTCUSE.  Hopefully his has bad paint and he will see our issue is real!!  Fat chance but we can hope. [smiley=help.gif]

Don:

I want to apologize as you are absolutely correct in all your statements above.  I should have notified the site owner prior to posting the letter and am going to revise the letter and take the site portion out.  As I would not want to see any negativity brought to the site or its members.

In addition, I will only speak on my behalf and the issues that I have, as I would not want to have a negative effect on what other members may be working on either.

All your points were well taken and I really appreciate having this site to turn to and to communicate with other CVO riders about our bikes.  That is one of the reasons why I posted the letter to get feedback prior to sending it.

Thanks again.

Thanks Dwayne.  Appreciate the efforts on your part.  Another thing to consider is that keeping the collective response of several equally hassled but coordinated members in your back pocket for a second volley (should such a thing become necessary) might not be a bad tactic.

Again, best of wishes on a positive response to this.  None of you 06 guys deserves the difficulties you're having to endure simply to get what should have a baseline; a nicely painted bike.

Thanks again,
Don

The letter really sounds great, good luck. I personally think the MOFOCO and some of its dealers are  starting down the old AMF road.

Dwayne, I think it's an excellent letter.  And, since you've gone through the appropriate channels trying to get a resolution, it's the next logical step. Who knows, it may just work.
I subscribe to Trailer Life magazine, and they have a section in there where people who are getting the runaround on warranty issues with trailers, 5thwheels, tires, or whatever. So the mag gets involved on their behalf. They usually start at the top, and it's amazing to see problems get resolved instantly that have been festering for lenghty periods. Usually, the owner, CEO, manager or whatever will say that the contact by the magazine was the first time they have heard of the problem, meaning, that most of the contact ended at a very low level customer support person.  Best of Luck to ya.   I'm sure my bike will be delivered with perfect paint, har har, but if not ,your letter will help us all.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Thanks, Robert

To be honest I just want them to fix the problem, If they would say hey we are working on it and something will be done when we find the fix, I could live with that. To say the bikes look great and that is the way it should look, I cant live with that....

I dont think any of us are dumb and we should not be treated that way...

But we will see what happens next,

Yes I have heard from the motor company, I was told they stoped production of the Blk Crimson's til they have a fix, was also asked to have the dealer buff the paint even though me and my dealer know it won't work. They are looking for a fix, I for one don't think there is one, they should and I bet sooner or later they will replace it.  Stay after them and ask alot of questions,  Ride safe

06 blk crimson they say the have stopped production till they fix the problem then wonder why did mine leave the factory 2-8.  Wonder what color they are going to paint while they come up with a fix.  Sounds like they all have paint issues!

Im working on my letter also, Im having a hard time not throwing an occasional **** *** and also an ****** *** *****'s here and there, Ill have to edit  Im sure. I was one day late of getting a classified into the thunderpress, asking anyone to contact me if they purchased a CVO CUSE. You may have an issue that you dont know about. I also am writing a letter to the editor and the feedback fsection for Hot Bike magazine who just did the review  on the 103, It wouldnt hurt if some others also did so. Might catch their eye if theres more than one of us bringing it to their attention. I'll send copys of my letter to every stinkin motorcycle magazine that I can find...any web-sites and or address's of magazines that I can do this too can be PMed to me. Thanks .

I doubt that anything will get done with only 20 something of us complaining....its like collateral damage. only a few victims, so the bombings will continue as far as delivering these bikes still. Its a numbers game for HD. I'll buy a custom built Touring bike next time from a private buider.... F MoFoMoCo.

If it's any consolation, looks like you black/crimson owners are going to have a rare bike given the fact that they've stopped production.

Maybe 2up will get a response quicker and then we'll know they're out to get you Mike.

I can't imagine getting a response back in any reasonable time from a letter.  I think if you are looking for a quick reponse the only hope is the phone and I know you've been on that too without much better result.

I had a few paint difficulties with my green "05 SEEG, (search MObe and paint). After running into many of the same situations mentioned here I was finally able to get my problem resolved by going around the MOCO and talking directly to the paint subcontractor for the SEEG paint. The subcontractor treated me with courtesy and respect and took care of the problem very quickly. The MOCO could learn a thng or two about customer service from some of their subs. The number for the subcontractor was given to me by a member of this site. Once I finally contacted them I had the last new perfect part at my dealership within 3 days. My dealer was blown away by this turn of events as they do not have access numbers to the paint subcontractors. The entire process of getting the paint on my bike right took exactly one year. I purchased the bike 8/20/04 and the last painted part was installed 8/11/05.
Hang in there guys, I really do feel your pain.
