Paul Yaffe 10" Monkey Bars

Can you for sure use all the stock cables and wires when changing a 2009 SERG over to the 10" Paul Yaffe monkey bars?

Yes you can and others here on the forum have even gone to the 12" Yaffe bars without changing the stock cables.

PS. Really think about the 12's :2vrolijk_21:

You think you the 12's are better? And why? Thanks for the info.

It's obviously a personal choice. I've just heard it said so many times that a person had just wished they went one size taller. Also, the 12's really aren't that tall, in fact, they are actually just about the perfect height from a comfort point of view. I wanted 13's, but Yaffe doesn't make that size, so I just rounded up to the 14's for "The Look". Most the guy's I ride with are running the 16's, which I thought were just too tall for me. Just my opinion, but the 10's just look to short. Whatever you decide is all good, because it would be boring if all our bikes looked the same :2vrolijk_21: Attached is a picture of my wife sitting on the SERG with the 14's and she's 5'9. This will give you a perspective of handlebar height relative to shoulder and arm position. Gook luck with your decision. Jim

Jim, very nice......and I like the bike also :javascript:void(0);  Have you noticed any trade offs due to the 14" bars, i.e. handling, long ride arm fatigue, etc?  Thanks.

The immediate trade off is the bike now has the "Cool Factor" :2vrolijk_21: No long rides yet due to the unusually wet weather, but I'll be riding with JCZ tomorrow to the San Francisco Bay Area to "hd-dude" shop to swap brake calipers. I'm guessing it's about a 250 mile round trip, so I'll know more this weekend.

Cancelled due to the rain and family obligations. I scored points with the family, but a lengthy ride was placed on the back burner. Not to worry....I average about a 1000+ miles a month, so stay tuned. It won't be long.  :orange: Jim

10" Paul Yaffee Monkey Bar ( but there will be problems with the handcontrols , because of the hydraulic clutch , the unit is a bit too long - i was told ) . Is this correct ? You have to use a dremel to make it fit .

@ Jim Glide ,
Could you please post a pic with the ape when the fork is extreme right or left ( not straight on , so that one could see where the grips are in comparison to the windshield , i guess one could get problems when using a tall shield , is this correct ? )

If the bars in that picture are the 10" ones then I think they look pretty cool! I an still debating about going to the 12's though.  Any pictures of the 12's. It appears we have photos of 10's and 14's
