Twisted Fairing FLHXSE 2016
« on: June 23, 2017, 08:52:13 AM »

Hi everybody.
anyone heard about or has on his bike a fairing, that is twisted?
On my 2016 SG the fairing (and handlebars) are twisted slightly to the right side, about 7-10 degrees, when riding straight on. That disturbes me a lot, after all we didn´t find the cause. It´s still twisted, and I´m hardly don´t enjoy riding any more.
Anyone of you have an idea?

thx, G.

If it's a '16, it should still be under warranty.  I'd stay on the dealer to fix it and at the same time send photos and in-depth measurements of it to the MoCo.  I would share those measurements with the dealer and ask them to measure points on the fairing to the body to back up your claim.  If the measurements back up your claim and are verifiable, I would share the MoCo letter with the dealer if they balk.
My '11 RGU's fairing seemed slightly twisted to me, but not by so much as you describe.  It would annoy me if I looked at it too long (which I did), so I can understand how you feel.  My '15's also seems slightly twisted from the perpendicular by perhaps a degree or less, but it's been much easier to overlook...so to speak.
This is definitely a warranty issue and you should push hard if it bothers you that badly.  If it's that visible to you, it ought to be visible to them as well.

What did the dealer say when asked, bike is under warranty I would assume?
