Handlebars for the SESG
« on: March 04, 2010, 10:40:50 AM »

Been studying up on bars for my SESG. would like to go 1 1/4 in and hide the wires. Wild 1's have the chubbys but I worry that they are a little high and wide. Havent been able to find any that pull back a little but dont ride into the Planet of the Apes land. suggestions?

Also, has anyone hid their wires AND the wires for their heated hand grips? Its seems to me from all my reading you can do one or the other, but not both. just not enough room. I thought with some chubbys I could do both but they are really 1 inch bars on the inside from what I understand

thanx in advance!

I use Flanders bars 2" taller and 2" more pullback. Only 1", but my dealer routed all the wires internally (no heated grips). Basically, these are chrome versions of the HD bars with 2" more pullback, but chrome. I'm not sure that I won't end up with bar mounted mirrors though...

is it cuz the bars are taller that you are thinking about that?

You might take a look at this : http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=45418.0;all

Thanx. I have read every post on this site. no one ever mentions doing both the internal wiring AND internal on the heated grips. I am worried the chubby 575's will be to high to go with performance machine fairing mirrors. i wish they made i 575 with the same pullback but without the extra rise....

In a word, yes. But... I have the bars rotated way back and fairly low. Just clipping the bottom of the mirror's view. I'm thinking of trying the split vision mirrors before I go to bar mounted mirrors. Here's a link to a thread with a photo. http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=45720.0
