Rinehart Quiet Baffles
« on: June 23, 2005, 10:57:47 AM »

I just installed the Rinehart Quiet Baffles. They are quieter to some extent. Not quite as deep of a tone though. Seems to be a little crisper on the throttle which is good for typical around town riding. Will post more later after some miles. BTW Chip, Jenna says hello back. Oh, Chad is no longer at Cox's?

So OSMA

When we going riding?

And that's a shame bout Chad. He's a good guy!
Cox is a great place but with the change from Country's to Cox's I'm sure there are many changes!

So are you thinking now that you have recovered your lost bottom end with the new baffles?

If you're still undecided between a Race Tuner and a Power Commander one approach you might consider is simply not to decide yourself.  Since you'll end up paying a (hopefully) good dyno tuner to do the final tweaking anyway an option to consider is first to find out where around you is a good dyno guy.  Then ask him which he prefers to set up (they ususally seem to like one or the other).  Since you're paying him to use it anyway might as use what he's best with.

Does Cox have a dyno?

If not i know a good tuner in Matthews.(not the Harley shop)

And I can tell you they are few and far between!

Cox's has a Dyno in Asheboro. I was considering Tilley's or Carolina?

OK. I took the quiet baffles out after a couple days of riding. Here's the deal. They are quieter by some amount 20% or so. They don't have as deep of a tone. They pop more. Or maybe it's just more noticable. The torque curve is shifted downward by 500-700 rpm. I'm guessing. It appears to run out of power on the top end by the same rpm amount. Not sure I like that. Once I add a PC and get more fuel in, I will probably recover the torque with the 2 1/4 baffles. It will just be louder.
