Maybe some are confusing the different "saddlebag guards". The type JCZ posted pics of are the basic style that I think works well with any bagger, without detracting from the appearance of the bags. The full Ultra style with double rails running around the bag is a different matter, and I think those would detract from the appearance and theme of the SESG.
There are two versions of what I call the rear crash bar (after all, it doesn't just protect the saddlebags, it also can provide some protection for your passenger's leg in a lay down), the standard style and the "comfort" style that is angled down across the top for more leg clearance. I put the comfort version on my SEEG several years back, and it doesn't detract at all from the original style of the bike. BTW, if you check out the catalog you will find that both bars will fit the SG and SESG, but they will require some other parts to make them work. Those are listed in the catalog, and have to do with things like antenna mounts, etc. So before buying the bar, check out the entire description and installation sheet which you can download from the online catalog page.
