I am getting the heated grips installed on my ride. They are the same as whats on the CVO Ultra and whats on the SG now but not heated. When installed new before the bike leaves the dealership they are covered under the warranty. If they last the 7 years then they should last the life of the bike. (I HOPE).

From what I have read about these grips, good luck on them lasting the life of the bike........haven't had the courage to put them on mine....may go for the heat demons.

Ok, So if i understand this correct, if I have them installed by the dealer w/in 60 days of buying the bike and get the extended warranty, then they'll be covered for a full 7 years?

Do not know about the 60 days but if you install any accessories when you buy the bike and before you roll it out of the dealership...yes. This is why i went ahead and installed them. I also went ahead and had them install the auxiliary lights and the navigation.

I had the Harley heated grips on both bikes with them lasting no more than one year. The one bike had them installed b4 the 7 year warranty took effect, they were replaced the first time no problem, the second time the dealer found some disclaimer on the package that they are not meant for internally wired bars. I dont believe this disclaimer was on the package when they were first installed back in 04.

My advice: Go with "Heat Demons", Ive had Heat demons on my bike for over 2 years with no issues and have heard no one with a problem with these

First set on my SEUC did not work from day one. Second set lasted one week. Good luck on that 7 year plan. You might be in the shop more than on the road.

My '08 Duracell came with heated grips that have been replaced under warranty after 18 months.  So far so good with the new set.

I was going to put a set on the wife's Ultra, but after having problems with my H-D grips, I decided to put Heat Demons on hers.
I have never heard of anyone having problems with Heat Demons and I like the idea of being able to choose almost any style of grips with them.
With Harley heated grips you are limited to a few choices.

Just my .02 cents worth.

Same with my 08 Frosty, no problems since replacement under warranty. I'd go for a heated seat before installing heated grips.

Really?  I'm just the reverse.  Certainly like the seat heat.  But cold hands happen more often than a cold rear.  Never made a real comparison.  But would guess the heated grips get turned on 2.5 to 3 times more than the saddle heater does.

Warranty is great but it does come at a cost in time and gas back and forth to the dealer and then the wait. Heat Demons and never look back.

Sounds like an insult...........

Insults are only insulting when the recipient actually gives a chit...  ;)
