Things I didn't know about my street glide
« on: April 30, 2012, 02:22:48 PM »

Ok i was just looking at another thread where Peterj  said this.  Dont forget the little chromre plastic stud under the pillion seat to put into the bolt hole on the fender. |A nice little touch.
This was about  just having the solo seat on.  I then went out and low and behold it is there.  I had no Idea about that have seen a lot of pictures with the thumbscrew put back in that hole.   Wondering what other little things like this that you have found if any.

I have a 2012 street glide, its my 5th harley in the last 25 yrs and have noticed these  stock handle bars are very uncomfortable on long rides. I'm swithching to either cycle smith or chubby 14 in. I test drove a street glide with 14's and you can still use the fairing mirrors and are much more comfortable. Street Glides also look great with a solo seat which will be purchased after my bars. Hope this helped.

Did you know the Street Glide was inspired by and a take off from the 04/05 SEEGs.  A stripped down version of the Electra Glides....bare fenders (no chrome trim, etc.), clean lines, a flow to the paint scheme, etc.

Great info JCZ, I did not know that, I was wondering where it came from. I have been riding Road Kings for the past 15 years so this is a good one.

SO! The ugly truth is at last EXPOSED! The MoCo strips stuff OFF, but convinces us to pay MORE... all in the name of "clean lines" and "the slammed look"...

I gotta admire THAT. And I'm OK with it... just as long as Buster doesn't look like a friggin' ULTRA!

Take those driving lights and that tourpack off and you should be all right. :huepfenlol2:

I traded a 06 Street Glide for my 04 SE E-Glide 3 years ago. Always loved the orange one. With the tour pak off it looks like a SG minus the lighted rear fender, which I wish I had. People often ask what it is exactly? I have always explained and finished with, it's a Street Glide before they made them. This model gave them the idea to make a sporty E-Glide. Love my  :pumpkin:
