Please understand Jimp, I'm not saying a thing about the effort you're putting in.  Just admitting that I'm not that diligent [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Was gonna ask this question in the SEEG section.
But since this threads here,
What is the seat made out of on the 05 SEEG?
Is it leather or is some kind of whoop-de-do material that really is just plastic?
I was going to leather treat mine but figured I would find out first.

Hey Chip, If it's like the other Harley seats that claim to be leather, only the part you sit on is leather, the other is something (vinel?) else!   Har!  [smiley=shocked2.gif]  spyder

Jimp, I've spent almost that long cleaning/detailing my scooter at one time.  Nite-Al has also.  And I'm venturing a guess that OTIS has also.  So, you're not the only 'sick-boy' admitting to this afliction!  Har!   [smiley=sick2.gif] spyder

Chip, it's described in the "Features" section of the SEEG section of the CVO section (that a lot of sections) of the Harley Davidson website.  There (in the section) it's described as follows:

"custom leather seat with perforated seating surface"

But Don tell us the real truth.
Is it real leather?

"custom leather seat with perforated seating surface"

Being the suspious lot that we are give us the truth.

You know
It's the difference between leather dressing and Armour All

[smiley=oops.gif]just remembered
Mine has no perforated surfaces, [smiley=confused5.gif]at least I don't remember any!

Well Chip, let's see what we can figure out.  With the super secret decoder ring leather testing method and a bit of sniff-test, coupled with normal honesty in advertising, but discounting Harley's predilection toward... well.... let's just say hyperbole the answer comes out to be.....   Who Knows !!   [smiley=7.gif]

Actually I don't have mine anymore. Traded the original awhile back for an old aluminum 409 Chevy intake manifold that I'd been coveting. But I remember when looking it over when the bike was new and being surprised that it actually was leather.  I really don't remember if different panels were something else.  But it was at least mostly leather.  I'd not be concerned about using a leather dressing on it.

The 2004's came with a bag of H-D leather dressing in the saddlebag.  From what I remember about mine (been awhile since I looked at it), it was 100% leather.  I really have no clue on the '05s.

Bingo!!!!!!!!!!

103T hit it on the head!

I got that same leather dressing with mine, but the seat just didn't look like leather.

But as Don said, I'm gonna apply it anyway.

If it screws up I can just trade it for some headers for a 409 and send to Two!

You'll be able to tell from underneath the next time you have the seat off.  Leather will be rough on the opposite side, more like a seude (sp?).  Vinyl will have about the same surface on each side.
