New PM Wheels on SEEG
« on: June 04, 2007, 11:34:47 PM »

Greetings all!

Thought I would post a pic of the new PM wheels I recently installed with the single rotor up front. The wheels are Performance Machine Roulette 18" rear with a 150 and 21" front. The braking seems to be as good as the stock duals and I don't drag the stand as frequently. I also had the Freedom power package installed this past weekend.

Regards,

I've got close to 1K miles on them and about half that is two up and I kinda like it. Feels a little more responsive. Corners seem fine so far...no wobble yet..hehe

Yeah, I was afraid someone was going to nail me on the reflectors. I tried to pop them with some 40lb fishing line before the picture and kept breaking it so I said what the hell. I will get them off this week. Any ideas? I had freedom put the pipes on and dyno tune. Dropped off Friday afternoon and picked up on Saturday afternoon. Got dumped on friday going through Truckee. I posted the dyno sheet in the SEEG thread regarding dynos. Let me know what you think HD.

Try heating up the leg with a heat gun first, then u use a strong pick to grab the reflector and pull it off.

I checked out your sheet and the numbers look good, Nice to see Brad using SAE corrected runs as well.

Wow, I really like those wheels

I hope with just a single brake on the front that you can get stopped quickly with all that Freedom Power

Scooter, looks good  :2vrolijk_21:

The ride looks great.  How long did it take for you to get the wheels?  I just ordered a set of PM contrast cut gassers and was told to expect an 8-10 week wait.  From what I was told, PM has a reputation of taking a little long with orders.

What did you do to the front fender to get clearance for the 21" wheel

When I got the pumpkin home last weekend, I just grabbed the reflector by hand and pulled.  Once the reflector was off, I just peeled off the sticky then cleaned up the fork with some chrome polish...

Thanks for all the comments and ideas! To answer the clearance question, the 21"X3.5" with a 120x70x21 Metzler will fit without any mods. I did oversize the rear mounting holes on the front fender to adjust the attitude a little. It should fit without modification.

Well let me be the first to say I didn't like them when I opened the thread and I saw them for the first time...
hey each to his own...
But times do change as well as opinions...
They are beginning to really grow on me...The more and more I see them the more I think they rock...
Good choice and they look good on the eeg...

A friendly warning to those buying the Anodized Contrast Cut wheels. Anodizing will fade fast if not cared for and the contrast cut part is bare alum. It is good quality alum, but has no coating. It will pit, dull, spot etc if not constantly cared for. Sunlight (UV), brake dust (read change to a/m ceramic pads fast) and almost any brake dust product will dull the anodizing at a pretty significant rate.
Not sure how to properly care for them, but a friend had them on a crotch rocket and he couldn't keep up, so finally found a Powdercoat place and had his powdered clear over the anodizing. Now they shine very nice and are easy to clean, but Powdercoat guy would not guarantee it as it was first time he had done that type work.
