Title: Value question
Post by: Rdump on July 20, 2016, 12:28:55 PM
I'm curious about the value of my new bike. It's a 2002 fxdwg3 that I bought Saturday. I got it for 6500 plus dealer fees and stuff. I saw one listed in CA at a dealer for 16000, unless that was a typo.  Kbb had it at about 8500 so I'm sure I got a decent deal. I've just seen a lot of stuff about this particular model.

Try not to drive yourself crazy over pricing of your bike. Good or bad it's always a matter of supply and demand for an item especially when it is a luxury or "toy" versus a necessity.
You may have gotten a good price because the dealer had had the bike for a long time with no offers to buy, or he "stole" it from the previous owner and could afford to sell it at a lower price. Or it could have hidden issues or higher mileage then other bikes on the market etc.
Look at all the auction type shows and you can see you need more than one possibly interested buyer to get top dollar for any collectable you need to have at least two very interested buyers or more to drive up the price.
Hope you have many happy and safe miles on your bike.

Do you like the bike?  Do you feel you were given an appropriate amount of lube during the purchase (or needed none at all)?

If the answers are yes don't obsess.  Be happy and ride the bitch  :drink: .

Well, I'm sure overall I got a good deal on it, and they knocked off a grand for me to get it financed.  I was just curious with all the new stuff I'm seeing about this model.
