Title: CIRO 3D seat for touring
Post by: fkhan726 on September 14, 2019, 02:04:34 PM
Does anyone have experience with this seat?  I like the look, the gel insert/back support and appears well made albeit a bit pricey....but I cant find any reviews.

I have one on order.  Looks great  thought I would give it a try. It's a six week wait.   So I wait.  :nixweiss:Stuart

I’m also very interested in your review. My only issue was they have a no return policy when I looked into them. Most other major seat makers I think all allow returns. I fine biting  off 500 bucks for a great seat. But if it’s not “great” I wanna be able to return. Very curious of your opinion.

So I am looking at the Saddlemen dominator seat (which looks very similar to the Ciro 3D seat).

On their website: https://www.saddlemen.com/dominator-solo-passenger-seats

It says "Our technique combines a specifically formulated viscoelastic polymer also known as SaddleGEL with the latest in co-molding comfort technology to reduce engine vibration transmitted to your body by up to 50%, and reduce direct impact forces by up to 92%"

I go to Ciro's website:  https://ciro3d.com/products/asr-seat-by-ciro%C2%AE

and it says ' At the core of this seat lies a gel insert designed to reduce vibration by up to 50% while at the same time reducing direct impact forces by up to 92%."

I think this may be the saddlemen dominator rebranded as the Ciro ASR seat.  There is also a big price difference....

Also say's "manufactured FOR Ciro" so you're probably right!

Looks like exactly the same thing to me but without the Ciro badge....

There are minor differences.  The nose is different on the Ciro and gives you a bit more leg room (pushes you back about an inch back compared to saddlemen).  I would still be interested but find it challenging to see a $130 difference.

I was notified that my ciro 3d shipped. Should be here in a few days.   I'll give you a report.  Stuart

Clean lines and fits well.  Let me know if it pushes you back and down from stock as well as comfort.  Thanks

I’m interested to hear your opinion about comfort vs stock. A report on passenger seat comfort would be great, too. Tx.

Guys.   Just did about 150 "miles today. Happy to let you know that I really like this seat.   You have room to move some and it's so much better on a long ride.  I'm still breaking it in.   I can tell you you that I will be loving this seat. You can't compare the back rest to the cvobackrest.com seat. This is fully adjustable and very well padded.  A great system so that you can set the best angle for the rider.   When you compare all this to the cvobackrest.com deal... This is a no brainer unless someone wants to keep the stock seat and rear pillion. This ciro 3d is a winner for sure.  Stuart  :2vrolijk_21:

Stuart, thanks for your opinion on the Ciro ASR seat. You mentioned “you have more room to move some”. Does the seat move you back versus the stock seat? Is the seat height lower than stock? Talking with Ciro I was told it did not set the rider back in comparison to the stock seat. Thanks for your input.

I did notice a very slight change in position. Back a very little in bit.  This is also a little taller.  I noticed it by the windshield I had a little more of my head exposed.  Very little. For me it was a good thing. I was thinking that The 12" windvest was a little too tall for me with the stock seat.   It's really not that much tho.  I'm going to get out tomorrow morning again.  It's a huge improvement over what I was sitting on.     Stuart.

I only got the seat.  It fits well on my 15 RGU.  Will see how well it does after a few long rides....
