I recently traded my ‘03 Ultra for my ‘13 Ultra SE. What an amazing difference between the two! Since I kept my Escapade SE trailer, I’m now in the search for a hitch and wiring harness.
In an effort to trim down the internet search time, can anyone share their hitch & wiring combination?

Been really happy with Bushtec hitch and wiring harness

I recently installed the Bushtec trailer hitch and wire harness.
Went on without a problem.
From looking at other hitch kit options, and how flimsy they look, I wouldn't use them.

Thanks to everyone for the direction. The installation sounds pretty straight forward. Now I have to wait for the bike fund to refill.

The Bushtec supplied harness will come terminated at the trailer end with a 6 pin WeatherPack type connector. Your Escapade will have something else. Have seen them with the old 4 pin flat and a couple other options. None with the WeatherPack type connector Bushtec uses though.
Check your trailer to see what mates to its harness. Just make sure you get (or can splice in) a connector that matches.

You'll still have to account for the differences in how the bike and the trailer are wired. Somewhere/somehow.
If there's a four wire connector on the trailer that means the trailer has been wired the way trailers are wired for most cars. One wire is a ground. One wire is tail light. One wire right turn and brake. One wire is left turn and brake.
Some bikes do it that way at the rear. So the trailer was previously ran behind something else. Harley does it different. Out the ass end of your Harley you'll have wires that separate turn signal and brake light. So you'll have:
One wire for ground
One for tail light
One for brake light
One for left turn
One for right turn
The sixth wire on a Bushtec harness is for a separate hot wire that can be used to power an internal light (or wire a phone charger or whatever else you might wish to hook up.
The extra wires are there behind a Harley because the turn signal and brake light don't exist in the same bulb/housing on our bikes the way they do on cars or some other bikes.

Don is correct on the wiring.
I dug through some old paperwork and might have found what you are looking for. Call Bushtec and see if a Jammie Bunch still works there. I have an invoice from her with a Bushtech #99644000 and is listed as a 5 to 4 converter but dang it was pricey. $119 and that was from 2014

There are a few different adapters to accomplish this in the "trailer world." Take a look at the link below. It should let you go from the five wires that come off the back end of a Harley to the four you'll need for the standard flat four wire connector. With this you'd still need a trailer harness for the bike. It would just adapt from what will come off the bike to your four pole trailer harness. The piece at the link below is about $30.

No matter how you decide to wire it, I would recommend running the trailer through an isolator.
