Title: Replacement tail lights for a '94 Bushtec
Post by: dayne66 on September 24, 2020, 09:25:29 PM
I'm holding off on painting the trailer because I have no idea what I need to match it to.

But.....would like to. replace the tail lights with proper LEDS...not just bulbs....and add a LED strip from Custom Dynamics.

The "94 Turbo has the lights side-by-side .

Anyone replace them? and with what?

Been searching and have not found anything suitable.

The other option is to replace the 'innards' with some type of array....LED replacement bulbs make 'hot-spots' that don't look right.

I replaced and put these in.

I just wished I out these on before I painted.  I also replaced the 3rd brake light with LED.

A perfect fit would be 9" x 2.5"....prefer all red to match bike. NO clear backup lens.

The above link led (no pun intended) me to these....the right length and no clear back-up lens...but, have amber turns that I could live with.

I like clear lenses and super bright led bulbs. Use amber for turn signal and red for brake lights.

Thanks ...I will look into those....They do have RED! I think mine are faded quite a bit compared to the lenses on my utility trailer. I will probably use red lenses as they will match the bike better. I'll probably end up reconfiguring the bulb layout as HO LEDs do not disperse the light evenly across the lens. ......they make 'hot-spots'. Will use some other type of bulb other than 1157/56. More bulbs for even coverage with-in each lens and the added bonus of redundancy.

Probably add some sort of LED strip light across the back and around the corners of the lid spoiler acting as run/brake/signal.

Are they a direct fit for the "94 tail lights?

Should be. Look at the part number on your lights it should match. Amazon has some real nice run turn brake led pods that can be cut down to fit. I have done that on several trailers.
