Title: Chrome fromt end
Post by: muddypaws on November 08, 2020, 09:54:35 AM
After 60,000 mile my front forks have lost their shine. Best way to get them to shine again?

Try some flitz. I put it on all the chrome on my bike and Kathy's in the spring. Works really good and makes the chrome wheels shine like new every spring

Would like to see photo of the damage. Post above recommends Flitz which is a good product that has "Cutting' properties. Flitz says there normal product is approx 6000 grit which makes it suitable for chrome, occassionally, but not on a real often basis as it is cutting the surface as it cleans it. This is no problem on a surface like paint or plastic but eventually it will deminish the chrome finish.  I use Flitz regularly with the Drill Mounted buffing ball they sell on a older vehicle we have to keep the headlamp lens from dulling and it makes them look like new so if your chrome is salvageable it should be the trick.
