Title: Harley's Daytona Giveaway Bike
Post by: Phreakyz on February 09, 2021, 04:51:34 PM
Saw this on Harley's website -   Man is it nice!   Looks like a CVO 117 Engine with blue accents.   Road Glide with lower fairings and 6 speaker audio...   Blue accents everywhere. Even looks like Blue Anodized handlebars...   I'd love to own it!

Maybe if they made the regular CVO bikes look like that, they wouldn't be sitting in showrooms collecting dust!

Nah, I read it online (a few posts earlier) that I was going to win.  When I do it'll have to park outside though.  No room in the garage with all the good red ones.

I'm in. We had a Blue limited edition paint set on my wife's Deuce in our garage full of Orange bikes before.
I guess we can have a Blue bike again!

It'd outrun the old FXR.  At least in a straight line.

You'ze all SOL!!! I registered too and you know the MoCo will make sure it goes to somebody that seldom rides so they will not have to deal w/warranty claims (and currently I fit that profile). :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Orange and blue go together even worse than red and blue.  Well, at least as bad....

When you keep them both covered only uncovering one at a time very rarely they will get along fine. ;)

That's true.  Though I forget that.  It's easier to ride them often enough to keep the dust blown off than it is to drag the bike covers out.

Except when it's this freaking cold outside.  This cold there's a reason a bike turns blue.

Hey guys!  Look what we (HD) can build when we want to, but won't!  Nice bike, they should have done those rocker boxes on the Mako.  If I win (I won't) those bars would be on the market place the next day, a little over the top for my tastes.  A sign of things to come.....Special Customs the new CVO but cheaper than a CVO and with more markup cause its super limited!

From a supply perspective all that one-off colored stuff is a recipe for near term obsolescence over the parts counter.  It's still a cool looking bike though.  I think (as best as I can guess from pictures only) I'd have done the inner fairing, instrument pod and bars in one of the darker hues from lower on the bike; for those times when a bright sun was over my shoulder and behind.  Might be different in person though.

When I win it it'll actually be hard not to ride it; even if it's not red.  Ok, here's the deal.  When I win it I'll sell either my Road King or my Road Glide (oh gawd it actually hurt just thinking that) and donate whatever that sell might bring to some charity.  And I'll keep the new bike stock.

It's all a dream Gary.  Must be.  Reaction to being cooped up with school cancelled all week so far due to not-really-all-that-bad-weather.  The dogs are looking at me funny.  Everything has been cleaned twice.  I've seen LITERALLY EVERYTHING on Netflix AND Amazon Prime.  And I'm hallucinating about some weird blue bike.  You can't trust anything coming here right now.

Harley should do a Theme Bike for every city where they have a dealer.  Would keep their paint guys busy & the Harley design team could approach each Chamber of Commerce/Tourist Bureau to request funding or at least local marketing support.  Limited editions.  CVO type pricing. Parts nightmares.

To each his own & beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but to me this looks like something you’d see Richard Simmons riding at the New Orleans Southern Decadence Festival.

I took the liberty to go ahead and order the full sac head pipe and baffles and went ahead and set up an appointment to have it tuned.  I really didn’t read the details when I registered but do you guys know if it will be delivered to my house or local dealer or will I have to go pick it up in Milwaukee? It’s ok if you don’t know, I’m sure they’ll tell me in my congratulatory email.
